Flash.Revenant is, and has been for quite some time, Singapore's best Starcraft 2 player. Starting his career years ago in the competitive scene with Warcraft III, it was only natural that he transition his skills over to the now staple eSport that is Starcraft 2. Having represented his country at numerous international competitions such as the World Cyber Game and Blizzards recent World Championship Series, Revenant is no stranger to high-level competition.

We caught up with Revenant for an interview after his recent second place finish at the third Vengeance Cup qualifiers. It was a close tournament for Revenant, but ultimately he was not able to overcome his teammate, Flash.DrakE who would take first place. You can read the entire interview below,

When did you first start gaming in general? What were your earliest experiences with gaming?
I first started gaming ever since I was around 12years old, starting with unique games such as Shattered Galaxy, which was one of the only MMORTS games ever created. I then went on to competitive gaming around 2008, when I was introduced to Warcraft3 and came back to the RTS genre.

How were you introduced to professional gaming?
I was introduced to competitive gaming by mostly my urge to seek for stronger competitions to improve myself as I have a very competitive nature and character. I first started with participating WCGs for Warcraft3 and then later to Starcraft2

South East Asia is a much harder region to be successful in than other parts of the world simply because there are a lot less teams and players for Starcraft. Why not play a game with more local support such as DotA or LoL?
I used to try playing competitive DotA before I started playing RTS games competitively. The difference is that in MOBA, roster instability seemed like one of the bigger issues. Case in point, even the best teams in the world encounter these. This was disheartening as my teammates were usually also my friends, and add that to me just being introduced to Warcraft3, it was a natural cause for me to move to the genre I enjoyed the most: Real-Time Strategy.

Did he get his name Revenant from the unit "Revenant" from Shattered Galaxy? Oh my, that game was so old school, played it for 3 years at it's peak.
