Welcome to our very first Gold, Platinum and Diamond Weekly Open!
The event shall start as a 64 player competition, but if we get a massive amount of sign ups, could be extended to 128. It will be a single elimination style tournament.
Details
Date: Sunday, 20th of February, 2011. Time: 7pm AEST, 4pm SGT Location: SEA Battle.net region. Tournament Eligibility: You must be in the Gold, Platinum or Diamond league (1v1 - SEA license). Diamond players must be under 2600pts, higher players will be disqualified. How to Sign Up: Sign ups will open on Saturday, 19 February. Prizes: The winner of the GPD Open will take home the $10 first prize
The top 8 players from this event shall qualify for the Masters Cup on 13/3/11 and the chance to win the $70 prize for that event. Wildcard qualifying spots may also be given for impressive play outside of the top 8. Battle.net Chat-Channel: "sc2seaGPD". If the event is full, the late replacement channel shall be sc2seaGPDx
Rules and Regulations
· All results must be PMed to FaDeEdOne in-game.
· Players must be logged into SCII SEA region 15 minutes before their match-up. Players who are 15 or more minutes late will be disqualified, if a replacement cannot be fount their opponent will be given an automatic win.
· Matches will be played as a Bo3 with the exception of the round of 64 & 32 which will be best of one, and finals which will be played as a Bo5.
· If any disconnects occur within the first two minutes of game-play, the match will be replayed. However if the disconnect occurs after two minutes of game-time, then it is up to the discretion of the referee to decide whether; A) the game is to be replayed, or B) player X/Y is to be awarded the win.
· Any disputes will be handled by the GPD admins after reviewing all associated replays.
· Any inappropriate behaviour will result in a disqualification.
Map List
The first map of each round is pre-determined and outlined in the following list. The losing player will decide the subsequent map. The map pool is as follows:

Loser can pick from any 1v1 Ladder map excluding Stepps of War + Jungle Basin
Brackets
Brackets are automatically generated when the tournament begins and will be posted directly to this thread so you will see who your opponent is, with ease, throughout the tournament. When the brackets are created, it is your sole responsibility to find your opponent, their character code and add them in-game and begin your matches.
Pleasure ensure you have your correct SEA SCII name and character code in your sc2sea.com profile, which can be found here. This will help reduce any problems people may face when having to search for their opponent's character name & code.

Ro32 needs to be Bo1 too even maybe Ro16. Or else it will last very long. If a 128player BSG can last longer than 5 hours given Bo1 all the way till finals where its Bo3, I foresee a potential 7 hours of playtime for the finalists. Do you want a final that may last until 2am aussie time?
You may want to consider the time constraint.

Shall try 2400, which excludes the top 600 Diamonds and Masters players. This competition is designed for mid ranged players.
