Major League Gaming (running the WCS America Premier League) and Electronic Sports League (running the WCS Europe Premier League) have been busy contacting pro StarCraft 2 players in an effort to see which region they are planning to play in for the WCS 2013 season. Both organizers are planning to announce their respective league’s invited players on April 12th.

Both MLG and ESL have sent out emails to players detailing the formats of their Premier League, which you can read about below. These details, as they have not been officially announced yet, are preliminary and may still be changed.

Really great work by Blizzard having an extremely deep prize pool! Not sure I agree totally with the rule on not restricting non-residents though, Pretty keen to hear who the invited players are (to be announced April 12th) Hopefully we'll see some love thrown SEA's way

24 invite spots and only 8 open qualifier spots
the whole thing should be open qualifier + the prize pools should be more evenly distributed its too top heavy

I was also disappointed to hear that there are so many invite spots. Hopefully this is just for season 1 and it will be sorted next season with players coming up through the challenger / Qualifier league.
