Hi everyone, a few words to demonstrate my situation first. I have been confident in my PvZ lately (since my win rate is above 70%), however when I look back all I have ever done is FFE leading to Immortal/Sentry push, mixed with Zealot and Stalker depending on the situations (whether they have a number of Muta or Lings).
Nonetheless, as I advance to higher league, my opponents seems to start favoring 3 bases/denying scout and go Mutas a lot, which put me in great grief since my blink usually isn't completed in time.
My question is after FFE, what's the possible followups since I have no experience in late game strategy (I often hit pre-broodlord time). Is it investing too much in Immortal if I begin producing them after my 1st obs? Should I go blind counter with blink since blink is good versus roach as well? If i happened to fail/retreat my army and the push doesn't work out, how can I get into late game?
Thank you so much in advance.
I attached 2 replays (ladder game) I played this morning against a same Zerg. The 1st replay he used muta to harass, making me wait behind in eco. The 2nd replay I happened to counter his roach/infestor army with Immortal/Sentry, which I believe was a blind luck.
I'm not a pro, and I play zerg, but here is my opinion.
First game (309565) that guy is pretty bad macro, his 3rd didn't even get started until almost 8 mins, and his supply only ~60 (should be 80ish ZvP where you don't harass at all). And your immortal push what happened to it? You make 3 immortal and sentrys and then just sit in your base and let him max out. At 15 mins its 200 supply VS 110.
If youre going for immortal senty you should be AT his base by about ~10.30 with 3 immortals, a bunch of sentrys, probably some zealots, and a warp prism and obs on the way and dropping a proxy pylon for reinforcments.
It's pretty hard for zergs to defend this push unless they know it's coming and prepare for it, even then, they often lose unless their macro is perfect.
This guy's macro was bad so you could have killed him with that push easily.
Game2: his macro is even worse, under 55 supply at 8 mins. I am not sure what you're doing but close to 10 mins you're only just getting first immortal out, and putting down gateways, no other tech done? Very slow start not sure what your plan is. you should be on the way to his base with 3 immortals already.
Regardless, he plays terrible and you manage to beat him with mass immortal push.
My suggested follow up would be take a third get a second forge, focus on upgrades, get a robo bay, maybe a starport for OP void rays.
@exan: i think it's because of the wide range of players, or you are actually a Platinum-MMR gold player, which means you gonna promote soon
@TorLuneth: thank you for showcase me this video, his series is so long that i don't know when and how to begin watching
The immortal timing push is very good, causes me a lot of grief. Other than that, expand to 3 bases, defend off the zerg as he will attack your third, and push with your unkillable ball at 200 supply. These are the strats that destroy me.
