Eternal eSports was a European gaming team, with members in many different games such as CoD, DotA 2 and of course, StarCraft 2. However, the EU side disbanded, leaving us brave souls on our own. Hey Soundwave, can you introduce yourself?

Hello, my name is Jordan Hamburger. I am a 16 year old Zerg player living in Canberra, Australia.

So how did you get into gaming and what is your favourite title of all time?

As I remember it, my first video game was Mortal Kombat 3. My brother would play it a lot with his friend. My brother over time introduced me to such great titles as Starcraft: Brood War and what is now my favourite game of all-time, Final Fantasy X.

So I take it you got into StarCraft II because of Brood War? Do you have any other RTS experience such as AoE or WCIII?

I was waiting like 10 years for SC2. So of course I picked it up immediately when it came out. I actually played both AoE and WCII-WCIII. I was never any good at the ladder portion of WCIII...or at all in the case of AoE, but I loved the campaign and custom games of WCIII.

How did you find ETL and how has your experience been so far been with the group?

After helping to organize a LAN in Canberra back in April, I decided to get more involved with the SEA community. After coming 2nd in GPD #50 (which was also my first GPD) I gained enough confidence to look for a clan. I contacted ipr (R.I.P) but they didn't get back to me for a week or so. Havok of ETL contacted me and asked me to join ETL. After some small back and forth, here I am.

Okay, let's now stray away from gaming. What are your hobbies and what do you generally like doing when you're not gaming?

I'm not that physically active, I'm more on the nerdy side of things. I like to watch TV (usually via illegal means T_T) and surf the web. This is just an average day, mind you. I do go out SOMETIMES. :P

So from your age I take it you're still in school? What are your future plans for schooling and where do you wanna be in the future?

Yes, I'm currently in Year 11. After I graduate from high school I'm going to have a gap year and then go to university. When I was a kid I wanted to be a vet, but nowadays I dunno, really. Probably something in computers.

Okay, awesome. So let's get back to StarCraft 2 for a bit. What personal goals do you want to achieve?

A couple of months ago my goal was to make Masters. Now that I'm here...and after seeing WCS, I really want to get to that level, a level where I'm at least able to go toe-to-toe with the best of SEA. So, I want to make GM first and foremost, and once I'm there, just keep going until I'm quite high up there. It's gonna take a lot of work but I'm confident I can do it. It may not be tomorrow nor in a year but someday.

When/if you make it to that level would you still be committed to ETL?

Well, it'd be kind of like HuK being on Liquid vs HuK being on EG. HuK loved Liquid but when EG gave him an option that was beneficial not really from an SC2 perspective but from a life perspective. So, if it came down to it and I am given an offer for a team that gives me funding to travel around Australia, I have to be honest and say that I'd take it.

Hi, can you introduce yourself?

Hi, I'm Santiago Pinzon, I am a 20 year Terran living in Canberra.

Tell us about your gaming history and how you found StarCraft 2.

I used to play AoC (Age of Empires the Conquerors) online but I was never good because I started too late. I always wanted to be good at a game and that was when StarCraft 2 was announced. I thought this would be the next big RTS and joined the Beta pretty early.

You participated in WCS Colombia earlier this year. Describe that experience for us.

WCS Colombia was my first big LAN ever. I qualified through the Campus Party Open bracket which had over 40 sign ups. I finished second losing to WC3 Colombia legend ASGARD. I was feeling pretty confident beating Colombia's top players in custom games before the tournament but since this was also my first overseas LAN I found out that it wasn't that easy to play with jetlag and without a place to practice. All this plus lots of people watching the games made me so nervous that I ended up losing because of nerves. Overall it was a great experience, made some fans and friends and will be practicing hard to win the next big Colombia LAN.

You mentioned practicing hard to win Colombia's next big LAN. What are your other goals in SC2?

I want to become one of SEA's top Terrans and beat Koreans pros someday.

You play Terran. Favourite/least favourite match-ups?

My favourite matchup is TvZ. I hate TvP because Protoss is op, imba, ugly and this must be fixed.

How did you get into ETL?

I posted on the SC2SEA looking for a team thread. I had a few offers from other clans but Soundwave's offer was the best since I like being a team with players that live in the same city as I do.

When you're not playing SC2, what are you doing?

Sleeping, partying, working and sometimes studying.

G'day I'm Wehrmacht, I'm 16, white Australian and I play Terran.

How did you get into StarCraft 2?

Played SC1 customs and missions when I was 4, found a hobby in RTS by 11.

And how did you get into ETL?

ETL is my first clan in any game, I thought it would be fun sparring with a few mates every now and then, participating in different team league events.

You play Terran. How did you decide on that race and what are your favourite/least favourite match-ups?

I used to play Zerg, then I switched to Terran mid 2011 because there was a huge race switch in the sc2 community to ZvZ, I disliked ZvZ due to cheesiness of the matchup. I found a love for Terran, I find it very challenging and I love multitasking, my favourite matchup is TvZ and I don't have a least favourite.

What are your goals personally in SC2?

My goals are to stay consistent, I'm not too keen on trying for a pro level.
Rather other life goals like bulking and getting a good job.

Speaking of which, when not playing SC2, what are your hobbies in real life?

Hobbies are: Working out, Misc, parties, seshing with the lads, smoking funny substances.

What has been your best/proudest SC2 moment?

Surpassing my ladder anxiety, beating top SEA players.

Hello, my name is Jesse Parsons (nickname Typhoon) and I'm from Tasmania, Australia!


How did you get into ETL and what is your role within it?

Well, I got into ETL by seeing a post on TeamLiquid about ETL. After some time in ETL, I was asked if I could try and start a StarCraft squad within SEA and got promoted to Captain of the SEA StarCraft squad and shortly after to SEA Regional Manager to manage all games played within ETL's Australian/New Zealand side.

Did you have much involvement with SEA before that?

No, because my main account was on the EU servers.

Before we speak more about ETL, what are your goals personally in SC2?

I have no "big goals" but I just wanna have fun and help ETL get bigger and better.

You've been unable to decide a race so you're currently playing random. Favourite/least favourite match-ups?

My favourite matchups are Zerg vs Protoss, Protoss vs Zerg, Terran vs Zerg and Zerg vs Zerg. My least favourites would have to be: Terran vs Terran and Protoss vs Terran.

Are you happy with how ETL (the SEA side) has progressed since it started in May or so?

Yes.

What are you hoping to help ETL accomplish in the future? Do you want to see people playing in events such as ACL waving the ETL flag?

I'm hoping we can get up what could be considered a semi-pro team and win stuff. Also it'd be awesome if we could take a ACL victory.

We can only hope :P. How do ETL's members interact with each other?

We usually just sit on TS, chat, laugh and have a good time.

Do you believe more in recruiting players who are already GM or helping lower league players get to that level?

ETL is here for the players of all skill levels. Because of that, under us bronzies one day could be come decent masters players or better depending on if they have enough time and they train enough with us.

Who is your favourite member of the clan so far?

This is a hard one but my favourite member is ChowMuddha.

How did you get into gaming and subsequently StarCraft 2?

I started gaming when I was 7 years old mainly on PC and basically loved it ever since. A friend of mine mentioned SC2 was coming out and so i started watching Day[9] and some other stuff in the beta and got hooked.

How did you find ETL and how has your experience been so far been with the group?

I posted in the looking for clan thread and Soundwave messaged me and I decided to join. So far I really like ETL, it has a great bunch of guys and I dont regret joining at all.

How did you choose your StarCraft 2 race and who are your favourite players?

I always said I was going to be Zerg even 2 years before SC2 came out and when it did come out I loaded up all the races and got a feel for them and just decided to go with Zerg. My favourite players are IdrA, PiG and mOOnGLaDe.

What are your goals personally in SC2?

Well I used to want to become a pro but right now I'm not sure how much I want that anymore (not that I would turn down the opportunity) and right now I'm just enjoying the game without any real goals.

When you're not playing SC2, what are you doing in real life?

I'm not working right now so just hanging out with friends.

I have not attended any LANs yet, but I do plan on attending some in the future. But not until I'm confident enough with my abilities.

Since ETL has started it has grown quite a bit, we have grown as a team and always having other members to practice with and discuss the game has only made this team stronger.
