In an attempt to try and help out a little with what I can do from my corner - I thought I might spend the next few weeks in the lead up to WCS nationals doing casts of those who will be competing in the Aus tourney (and Oceania too I guess).
I'm going to do some casts of the players attending that will also include info/talk about what's coming up with WCS, links to your streams/twitters and so forth, in the hope that some of my more 'international' crowd that follow me on Twitter/Youtube will actually see meaning in taking a peek at WCS once it goes live in August. Even if this only gets a small percentage to jump on and see what fantastic skills you all have, that's something.
So if it's ok with you blokes in the tourney, I'd love to see any recent great replays you have (especially against big name foreign players from KR/NA, these draw great attention!) so that I can do this - though I'm happy to go through the replay section here on sc2sea and try find some if you don't want to share your "latest" strats and whatnot, that's cool I understand.
Dox/Vanz if there is any particular promotional material you'd love to see on the casts please let me know; I'm happy to put pre or post-roll video on the casts if you so desire and logos too.
If you don't particularly want me to do any casts please let me know; though I hope that's no one, any attention is good attention! And as Rossi and PiG know after a few discussions; I'm a big proponent of getting social-media details out there so that people can properly follow you and see what you can all do - especially given that I know it's much harder as a player to get attention than it is for a caster.
If anyone wants to chat about this or has ideas surrounding this please feel free to contact me on Skype; duckville.lol
Cheers
PS: I suppose I should add, for those that aren't going to the event because you unfortunately weren't able to qualify; this still applies for you guys too - if you have some great reps playing against other high level folks please let me know and I'll happily cast them - just at the moment I'd like to focus on getting as many people checking out WCS.
PPS: Going to add something in from Skype that I just mentioned to Chadman:
[3:18:43 PM] DUCKVILLELOL: Yeah basically I'm just going to skip casting any of the normal things I do (TL, other rep pack stuff) with the exception of my team that is... And do casting of the guys in the event. So if [anyone] has any reps against high level pros outside of Aus I'd love to see them; they can be short or long I don't really mind - it's the name that matters in this case.
[3:18:43 PM] DUCKVILLELOL: If I do a cast of something like pig vs rossi or whatever; it'll get maybe 100 views. If I do pig vs huk like I did a little while back; 5k views minimum. Because those sorts of casts get aggregated across all those vod websites.
^This means more views on your games, and hopefully more people who'll take an interest in the WCS Australian nationals!

Reason: PS
One thing to consider is that if a replay isn't already available, your chances of getting any are extremely low. People aren't terribly keen on showcasing themselves to their opponents 2 weeks before a huge event.

Yeah I'm aware, and like I said that's fine I understand. Those who are interested can send them through, even if it's from a little while ago.

Most of the sea players know each others styles pretty well... and since the point is mostly just to show some of the guys competing at WCS beating up on a few names for the foreign audience that might pay attention in the leadup to WCS they don't even have to be (particularly) recent replays.
e.g. The Ninja vs. NesTea replay from a month or two back kind of thing would be perfect fodder for this kind of campaign.
Cheers, starting with Mafia first because he was first to hit me up with some reps. I'll get casting tomorrow; for the rest of you guys please be sure to hit me up if you're willing. As mentioned in the OP I understand if you don't want to show your new strats and whatnot; just give me something a little older instead
Hopefully if people who don't know much about local players google/youtube the player names they'll see these and get an idea of their styles and whatnot. Obviously one game doesn't necessarily mean you can judge a player, but hey it's something!
