Yesterday, I played a very obscure game on Daybreak where the protoss rushed mothership and used archons/zealots thrown in to vortexes to kill my roach army .
At first, I thought it was pretty goddamn retarded, but often genius and insanity are two sides of the same coin, and I've come to realise how brutally effective it is as a strategy.
What I am after is any insight into what sort of decisions I should be making here, and any criticism (even negative, non-constructive if you will) as to how I should be dealing with his army.
I was considering going straight to brood/infestor, but I felt that the window was too small to make good use of it, and multiple vortexes that the mothership would have accumulated the energy for would have decimated my army.
He means the "poo" build because Pinder first started using it on his account named "poo". Brood infestor wont really work as you wont get it up in time. When he played with it on stream I think I saw him lose to a zerg who went mass roach/corruptor, sniped the mothership then fell back and won with the remax of roaches. You could also try neuralling the mothership and vortexing his army since he has no collosus.

I was going to go towards a neural/roach style, but I felt like the neural would have been a bit too risky, and a potential neural fail would have lost me the game, and I didn't want to take my chances with one neural.
The corruptors also went through my head, yet I thought making that many corruptors would have been detrimental to my army, and be useless once the mothership is down, but in some ways your right, as the mothership is the lynchpin of this whole build.
I guess there's no "easy counter" to this, and it requires patience and a bit of risk
i think if you just had an overseer there for the first fight you would have killed his whole army or atleast most of it.
i think roach infester with neural is probably the best bet, even if you cant neural the mothership you can fungal zealots so they cant hit you or even neural the archons or maybe roach corrupter then switch them to broods once you kill the mothership but you would need to know its coming.
All really good ideas, I had it mentioned to me as well that I should attack from multiple locations, as his whole strategy "banks on landing the archon toilet".
yehhh just need a lot of overseers and maybe get a neural on the mamma ship, with roaches u shud be able to kite a zealot archon army without getting it votex'd too
My general strategy dealing with current mothership strategies is to flail my arms wildly in rage and Q_Qing for a patch asap and punching a cat.
Above is all good advice to.
Mass spines and good creep spread help keep you alive when thinning out your ground army going for corruptors.
I hate motherships, my only advice is that the mothership is slow, run away from it while you use any units that hit the mothership (corrs, mutas, hydra, IT's) to kill the mothership and then go in. Its better to throw away 2k worth of army to kill the mothership then 5k of a max army in a single vortex.
I had trouble with this myself. Asked to play more vs him. Only won the final game of five vs this wonky strat, and then I played suuuper greedy up to 35 spines and infestor broodlord and neuraled his mothership and wasted the vortex. But it was still really close. Should note all games where on ohana, so the smallest map in the pool.
I tried a lot of different stuff though, I think infestor broodlord with neural and shitloads of spines or maybe a ling/bane/muta army would do well (pick him apart with the mutas), then just survive and do counters with lings, the mothership is slow and can't travel alone with mutas out.
I guess just make sure you scout to the best of your ability so if you see the fleet "bacon" prepare for it with a lot of roaches and corruptors. Never make hydras to deal with a protoss air army. For example carrier voidray mothership. Stick to corruptors, roaches and infestors to deal with protoss air.
