This is a copy&paste from a post I made on the SC2 Official Forums, but I wanted to ask here too, this saves me time retyping exactly what I would ask anyway, but with a little more detail, so:
I'm 21, live down in Cambridge, Waikato. Have been living in NZ for just over a month. I used to do quite a bit of casting when I was in the UK for the ESL UK local tournaments, Clan eXe's weekly tournaments with their media team & the early SCVRush tournaments and helped set up and run Manchester Barcraft as well as help run ESL UK. I have a youtube channel where about 70% of everything I've casted is, the rest is probably in Twitch.tv streamer archives. I have been casting on-and-off since Season 1 up until Jan 3rd 2012 when I was practically homeless & without a PC whilst waiting for 5 months VISA to clear to move to NZ. I've never had great internet so I've never been able to stream myself, instead we had a duo-cast, the other guy streamed and we would do it over Skype together.
I am wanting to put my skills and experience to use over here in NZ and hopefully help the eSports scene over here flourish as it has done in the UK. Is there any NZ tournaments looking for a caster, someone looking to set up a Hamilton Barcraft, or something along those lines that some of you may know about?
I wanted to also ask if everyone's internet is as poor as mine too :P I'd be able to stream but I don't think my 120gb limited internet could cope! My PC is well and beyond capable of streaming too, which is a damn shame!
120gb is plenty for streaming usage, I stream 7hrs at a time and use maybe 1-2gb of upload.
As for getting gigs, ask around do some BSG / GPD coverage, ask the admins as well and see if they need people if not, you can always just grab replays and have fun that way ^^
120GB is more than enough. Like System suggested upload usage while streaming is actually decently low in comparison to your total usage assuming you have a half decent net cap (50GB+).
Regarding casting opportunities look around jump on any offer you see. Even if your experience is far beyond that of a BSG (Bronze/Silver/Gold) or a PD (Platinum/Diamond) it will be a good opportunity to get your voice out there in front of people.
I am happy to extend an offer to co cast the next wT Weekly with me on Monday 8PM AEST if you want an opportunity to get your feet wet (http://www.sc2sea.com/showthread.php?t=5040 for an example)
Otherwise get in touch with Eddie on these forums who runs the GPD - he sometimes is looking for casters (runs on Sunday afternoons) Asrathiel and AsylumofSouls are your best friends for BSG (runs on Saturday afternoons)
Clans also sometimes host clan wars which you may be able to cast/co-cast with some guys (look out for threads in the community & clans sub forum).
Other than that get involved with the community outside of casting as well and I am sure you will become a valuable asset to the community. Look forward to having another caster in the ranks.
Thanks Baldie & System for the direction.
I will definitely cast with you on monday, thanks very much for the offer.
I'm going to work on setting up my stream in the meantime. You can catch me in-game via Ghosty.933 or on Skype (I'll message you it if you like).

Hit me up on skype mate: bradley_baldwin
If you need any support setting up your stream let me know (assuming it is via xsplit). I will be streaming from my account (www.twitch.tv/baldie24) on Monday so don't worry about having it sorted for Monday - I appreciate you need it sorted if you are to solo cast however!
Ghosty is a good bloke, hangs around mGG a lot. Always happy for you to cast mGG stuff, we should have a few clan wars coming up over the next couple of months.
its good to see another person in nz looking to make their way into the sc2 scene over here even if your from the UK. Welcome friend. Why are you in Hamiltron is my first question? secondly nz doesn't really have many lans in comparison to those aussie guys. I'd do what system suggests in starting at the lower levels espically as you don't have your own comp to run things off and try to save to get one that can uk to nz currency should help you as you can get a decent pc here for about 2k. glgl hf
Thanks for the kind words DrGoose I'd be happy to cast your clan-wars for you mate. Just drop me a line letting me know when.
Stallion - In Hamilton for University at the moment & family. Might move closer to Auckland in the future but not any time soon
I know there are the occasional LANs in Auckland at the Corporate Box where they held the NZ Blizzard WCS and I've seen some videos on youtube of one down in Wellington too.
I do have my own PC now it's pretty badass >
A real word of advice, BE LIKEABLE. No one will care to listen to you if your not charming or funny. Be cheeky, be edgy, be nice/honest. Be whatever, but be real and be fun. I love when people cast there own games and can have a sense of humor about it. It is way more entertaining to listen to someone say "Wow, I really screwed up there, supply blocked myself to death, LITERALLY!" as opposed to "If I hadn't supply blocked myself I would have won!!! this guys just a lucky scrub, he's got nothing on me!"
Asrathiel and AsylumofSouls are your best friends for BSG (runs on Saturday afternoons)
Just saw this and saw that I got mentioned I'm sure we could get you to do BSGs sometimes, in combination with Venom, breadfan and MrSandman who are our rotating casters ^_^
