I stumbled upon this thread on TL, not sure how many of u have actually seen it but i found it quite a good read, especially for players in the lower leagues.
A lot of these things have been said over and over again but this is all put very nicely and I couldn't help but pass it along, even if it only helps a few people.

Nice post, I have been through it before it does provide valuable resources. Some parts I feel are a little outdated.
In my experience after trying many manuals and guides... Have found greatest benefit in the GM Manual. It teaches concepts in a straight forward way and you can focus on separate aspects easily. Best part its updated quite regularly for meta game and patches.
My experience is that I play at my best when I am relaxed. This allows the highest level of focus. If you cannot focus on the game entirely when your playing it, you wont get the best results. It is the same with study and other things in life. Sadly I learnt this the hard way.
Went through it before and was pretty long, good if you have the time to read through it. Practically a wall of text harping on the basics...which is good I guess
