Hey all, a friend of mine is looking to buy a new PC so he can run games like SWToR, Tribes and Battlefield at max settings. Neither of us are really clued in as to what to get so I figured I'd come here as I've seen you guys help others. He's willing to spend around a maximum of $1k so if anybody here could give me a list of stuff or a link to prices of the stuff he needs, I can relay it along to him. Thanks for any help

about 500 bucks and runs sc2 max and bf3 max fine.

Motherboard selected only supports DDR2 . Also the motherboard selected also only have a maximum capacity to run Windows XP 32bit OS so he wont be able to get more then 3.8 gb of memory usable on his system. Also the memory is going to minimized speed due to the Bandwidth available on the memory bus . Max speed is 1066mhz.

Does he need a full system or does he already have a monitor, hard drive, etc? I payed about 1300 for mine for just the hardware but that didnt include monitor and hard drive etc (I mean you can get a kick arse system for 1300 so can still get really good ones for 1000). Does he actually want to spend or $1000 or cheaper the better?

He's looking for a full system and is happy to use all 1000.

that will cost you around $750 on www.pccasegear.com and will run those games on max

I recommend getting a small SSD aswell to put your OS on and games that you play the most so boot time and game load times are instant.

You can't play BF3 max with the GPU :/. I'm assuming his gonna AA x8 on his game

I have a 6870 and everything is max except AA which is on 4x but that's all that comes up in the drop menu for me.

that's true I didn't see that, get the 1333MHz version
