Since the last one was so amazing*, I've decided it's time to run another one. After some asking around i learned a few people would be interested in a 2v2 tournament so (as the local 2v2 enthusiast) I'm helping organise this one with Ben.

*i can't make any guarantees, but i'm pretty sure if we all select protoss and bring McDonald's then Squishy will get even more mad/hilarious this time

Tournament details:

Date: Sunday 15th of April

Start time: 10:30AM, sign ups at 10:00AM

Location: Shop 2, 114-116 Murray Street, Perth.
The place is called MCGaming

Cost: $20 entry (per player, so $40 per team)

Cost includes $10 for PC hire all day (pretty amazing deal) and $10 going towards the prize pool. the organisers take no profit from this event


Prize Pool:
1st Place: 65% of total prize pool + Mouse Pad + MCGaming Membership Credit
2nd Place: 35% of total prize pool + Mouse Pad + MCGaming Membership Credit

Format:
Format is going to be very different to the other tournaments, mostly because i love weird formats (like 2v2) and I hate group stages.

There will be 6 rounds of Bo2 Swiss tournament bracket. If you don't know what a Swiss tournament is; it's basically a shortened version of round robin, where your next round opponent is not determined until everyone has finished the current round. No one gets eliminated and every game will count towards your final ranking. Wikipedia has a decent article explaining the details.

Bo2 of course means some matches will result in draws, in which case points will be split. Maps will be predetermined, each map will be played in exactly 2 rounds.

After the Swiss bracket, a relatively short finals series will be played. also a weird format cause the winner of the swiss bracket deserves a big advantage:

higher seed picks 1st map followed by loser picks

2nd vs 5th (match A) (Bo3)
3rd vs 4th (match B) (Bo3)
winner of A vs winner of B (match C) (Bo5) (starting map randomly chosen)
winner of C vs 1st in swiss bracket (Bo5)

Players will not be race locked, and may change raced between games in a series (based on things like the map or their opponent changing race). In the case 2 teams keep changing in response to each other's race, a neutral party (ie an admin or player from another team) may be called in to enforce a blind pick.

As always, MC has a capacity of 40, so it will be first in best dressed. obviously you will need to sign up with a team mate as this is a 2v2 tournament. If you would like to enter but don't have an ally yet i would suggest making a comment below including your league, race and preferred ally's race.
