Smiley: Smile General writing on Starcraft 2

Topic:Starcraft 2 Basic theory for lower league as a player.

Hello everyone,
The reason i write this article are as follows:
1)I love to write.
2)I want to write something related to Sc2.
3)I hope this article can help others in their game.
4)I am really bored at this point of time.

Click the image to open in full size.

A mere 2 months ago, i won 3 out of my 5 sc2 placement and was placed in a .
Today, i am in with a comfortable rank. With all due respect to everyone, i know is not a very strong league to many and this article is not meant to boast about myself. It is possible and easy to maintain a healthy diet of Sc2, Study and social life.

Nowadays, everyone from to knows basic built order. So, how and what do you think makes you stand out from the guy next door? Please take note that i am writing from a zerg player's point of view.

vs is all about information. It is a two way communication which involve reaction and counter reaction.
what is reaction- it is a term where you choose how to play according to your opponent game.(example: if you saw an opponent do a fast forge expand. You can safely get your 3rd base or simply "ROFLstomp" him with early ling)
what is counter reaction- it is a term where you deny your opponent game mechanical advantage.(example:if you know an opponent has mass thors to counter your multalisk. Stop multalisk production or try the "magic box")

It is important to always assume that your opponent know what he is doing. If you saw a fully saturated base and his production does not match the income.Ask yourself these question.Does he have "proxy" production buildings? Is he hiding a tech or expansion? Where does his vaspene gas and mineral go to?
When scouting the opponent base, details of the following should be noted as follows:
1) Does he leave a vulnerable spot for early attack?
2)what is his worker doing? How many worker are there?
3)Is there sign of an early rush?

The best plan in Sc2 is the one you used most. When a player do the same thing over and over. Not only will he get better time on production, the situation awareness rises as well. This can be further improved by "spamming" game. You can only improve if you do the real thing, which in this case i meant play more game.

If this goes well, i will try to write more article. Free free to drop any topic you guys are interested about and i will try to write one about it. (PS.: topic must be Sc2 related). Thank you for your time.
Theend

bad
always assume the opponent is a total retard and scout more than you think you should
because usually your opponent will do things that don't make any sense
assuming your opponent knows what he is doing will lose you games when you assume, for example, if you see fast expand and assume you are safe to drone as he will be getting his econ up and running only to have him do a 1 base all in but with a expo?

scout scout scout scout
never assume

By this line, what i meant was to project a mentality that the opponent played his game on purpose.
Rather than to view them as a mistake. Think of it as his strategy, an idea which he thinks will help him to win.
For example: Nowadays, many player get fast expansion when dealing with . However, this was not the case when the game was not mature as it is today.
During the past season, for example in season 3. player who get fast expansion againts player would be sterotype as a "noob", "joker" and even a "newbie".
Ever since "pro" players have done it in tournament, the mindset of players of today have change. Not many player project such action in game as senseless. The new mindset would more likely be "fast expand helps to catch up with economy", "nice move" or even "normal opening againts ".
I apologize if my explanation was still confusing.

Hi Theend, I've seen you around before on Pracbud and am glad that you made it so far in such a relative short amount of time. Despite I'm not Zerg, I'd be interested if you can share your general experience and mindset as you get promoted to each higher league, just any genreral stuff that comes to your mind that you wish to share.

Topic: Fundamental of team ladder.

Hello everyone.
I have been doing team ladder for the past few day, with hope that i could get in each of my team ladder. So, i would like to share some idea on team ladder. I hope everyone would do the same too.

Click the image to open in full size.
(PS.: of course not this, i meant Sc2 game. )

1)Your game buddy

Click the image to open in full size.

In my humble opinion, the guy who in your team is the best weapon in the arsenal. I strongly believe a good team must have strong foundation in communications between the players. If everyone in the team knows what his teammate is doing, the benefits are exceptional. It gives the team confidence. The faith that your teammate knows his game. The full trust in your partner. The belief on the teammate to cover your back on a bad situation. These are extremely valuable assets which have the potential to turn game on it's head, or even win the match.
I believe information that should be shared between team ladder are as follows:
-What is our plan for the game? ( Timed rush?, Hard turtle? Air force? )
-Back up plan? ( Plan B,C,D,E. . . . .)
- How do we implement it? ( First, we should . . . . .)
Nothing can be done without your buddy!

2)Your opponent

In every game, it is important to take advantage of your opponent weakness. It can be classified into 2 parts. The defense and attack of both you and your opponent. It is at all times important on how to exploit any advantage presented by your opponent. Minimized loss of friendly unit should be accounted for. If you do not lose units to your opponent, chances are you are winning the game.
When attacking, point to note as follows:
1) Do you think your combined forces could make a breakthrough?
2) Are there any hard counter? ( s/bling vs BFHellion, Detector vs DT )
3) Where is the soft spot? ( I have seen many players who never defend the rock area )
4) Do not attack alone.
When defending, points to note as follows:
1) Are there any "scout" to spy on your enemy movement?
2) Are there sufficient amount of unit in an event of surprised attack?
3) Do we have the right unit counter?
4) Where should we position our units?
5) Gather of defense force before "greeting" your enemy.

Have a nice day.
Theend
