That's more events leading to one big event for one game than ACL has had in a year for Halo.

Yeah sorry to spring that one on you so suddenly. I previously announced the tentative dates in the Q&A thread to try and give people a bit of lead time but unfortunately things kept popping up to prevent me from going ahead with the official word.

Also keep in mind that the Online Rounds are capped at 40 players per event, so don't waste time signing up guys!

Just wanted to clarify something the applications asks are you Aus/NZ res, does that mean NZ players can join the Online qualifiers? ^_^

Yep, that's correct. NZ residents are encouraged to participate! We'd love to see players like JazBas & the Iris guys at the National events someday.

How long do the only rounds usually go for? It's a 10am start for me but I usually have work starting around 2.30 on Saturdays, is it worth me signing up and playing just as many games as I can, even if there's a chance I have to leave mid-way through it?

Also, I seem to remember somewhere you saying that the regional events will be seeded based on previous ACL results. Is this true? So the highest placing people from ACL Gold Coast will be seeded higher in their respective regional tournaments when sign-ups are complete?

Can't waitttt, I'll be at Syd regardless!

Yeah xG would fly him, he wants to come to Sydney for an event (or 2, I may run a CH event the weekend after ACL Sydney) it just depends on his Uni schedule.

NP on the short notice dox i have the benefit of being a total baller at sc2 with no preparation at all

In regards to the time for competiton: Its really gonna take 8 hours to finish group stages? :s How many people per group I wonder? bo3 or bo1 etc, i guess it doesnt really matter just curious and bored at work lmao

And yeah definitely wondering same thing as lost on previous points for placements at last ACL!!!

Unfortunately due to venue hire costs and whatnot, we're not in a position to be tremendously generous with the regionals. The main focus of the event is the points you earn to be invited to the national event. From my own personal opinion though, I'd really love to see the regional prize pools go up, and it's something I'll be working on in future.

Yep - the people with the most overall points (ie. GLaDe, Rossi, PiG, etc) will receive very generous seeds at these Regional/Online events. They'll still need to qualify for Sydney though, so it's no free ride!

Definitely not. I've actually budgeted for ~5 hours, with 6 being the worst case scenario. This gives time for a dinner break, and the occasional break between matches. Some groups will wrap up in less than 2-3 hours, whilst others might be drawn out a little bit due to inevitable delays and connection issues. All games (group stages & double elimination) will be bo3.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention - there are only 24 spots left for this Saturdays Online Round! Better get in quick guys!
