Getting my expansion blocked from T & P.

Hi, so i´ve been lately playing A LOT against platinum/diamond and and I dont know how to act. I´m most of the times trying to do hatch first but they would just block it with a pylon/supply depot / Bay which is annoying. I´ve been trying to take my natural at my thirds place (ON TALDARIM YOU CANT) but its most of the times hard to defend from 2 zealots/Helion/banshee harrass or even a 6 gate and I´m getting a third that in most of the cases I dont want untill its a little bit later. I also tryed killing pylon/supply/bay with drones, I´m taking 4 drones to destroy the block, I dont know if its too much , but the expansion still comes REALLY late. When they do that I throw down a pool.
Also if I open with a speedling expand build (Expo comes at 21) they will also delay it A LOT. Sometimes building even 2 pylons. I dont know what to do and its really annoying loosing just because of that.

Against protoss you should be going some form of pool first expand, you can choose whether to go pool and gas, or gasless. This is due to a good protoss ALWAYS will be able to block your early expo, and lings will help you secure it.

Against terran, they are putting themselves behind if they do this. If you intend on taking an early third then yes just expo to your third base no issues. If you plan to 2 base however then throw down your pool early and use the excess to get your queens up, 2 lings to kill the block and then expo.

Remember you can do the same build, just alternate the order you do it in if you get blocked, and get back to where you want to be

Hatch firsting against protoss is a terrible habit, SLAP YOURSELF! Go something like 14 or 15 pool, then if he pylon blocks the expo the delay time is minimal as you'll have 4 lings out to kill the pylon. The other advantage here over just taking your hatch at your 3rd, is the protoss won't know yet whether you're doing 2 or 3 base play, which forces him to invest more in defence if he can't scout you.

Against terran the engi block is really fkn annoying, but it does set them back a bit. Just go pool first and keep a drone at the nat to attack the scv if he tries to add more health to the engi bay.

What flamga said, they wasting money to delay your hatch.

All you lose from this is larvae, how to minimise this? Throw pool immediately and get queen asap to start injecting earlier, larva loss ends up being very small for a decent investment from opponent in lost mining time and building cost.

However 4 lings to kill the structure as 2 will take a long time to destory an almost built ebay, and against a pylon if they place a gateway next to it 2 lings can't kill it, 60s delay on your hatch very bad.

Hi guys, that was a really quick response, thanks I´ll start trying to do all that, i got my queen really late vs that "Strat" so i think that was the bad part of it.

All I can say is, pool before hatch in ZvP always. Always build at LEAST 4 lings, you get super punished for not doing it, probe can delay your hatchery forever as 2 lings + drone don't kill buildings before they finish building.

on certain maps you can just take your 3rd instead. assuming you were gonna 3hatch anyway.
need to be vigilant that he doesn't go and cannon your 3rd.

First things first, don't hatch first against Protoss, it's too much hassle to deal with the inevitable cannon rush/3 pylon block thing. It's much better to go 12p19h or 14p16h.

Against Terran I was having a similiar problem to you. What I do now is really my 14th drone to my nat, and go 14 hatch. It's slightly more economic than a 15 hatch, and is also about 10 seconds faster, which is essentially why it doesn't get blocked.

If it does get blocked, don't worry, just throw down a pool right away, and play it like a 15p 16h, or something along those lines.

I send my 14th Drone down and hide it behind the minerals. Make another Drone, hit 300, move the drone from minerals in and put down the hatch. Usually times out that they run in and i put my hatch down. Saying this i play random so its a bit easier =/

Don't ever go hatch first against toss, especially in lower leagues. Try going 15 pool 15 hatch against toss. This way, if they throw down a pylon, you'll be able to see it, make an overlord and an extra drone, pull back your hatch drone, then make a queen and 2 pairs of lings as soon as your pool finishes. Bring a drone as the pylon is being destroyed to make the hatch instantly. Scout normally after this. And you can also make your second queen while you're waiting for your natural to complete. I never suggest pulling off drones unless he's building cannons.

Against Terran, you should be going 15 hatch 15 pool or any slight variation of that in most scenarios. To be honest, with the map pool having larger maps these days, he shouldn't be able to manner EBay your natural with normal scouting time (SCV at your natural at 3-3.5 minutes). This means he'd have to make a conscious effort to send an early SCV with the intent to manner EBay. Kinda stupid on his part. If for some reason you don't get down your hatch beforehand, try following the same suit as against protoss.

For protoss just open 15 hatch 15 pool or something like that. Against terran, position your second overlord over your natural and if they are blocking it just pull 2 drones off the line and stop the bllocking.
