[Hydroid]

Hey! My name is Hydroid and I have just unveiled my latest project. A Starcraft 2 e-sports news show called "What Happens in Starcraft". It will focus purely on highlighting the major events from the professional scene on a weekly basis. I had the idea approximately 5 months ago and after some searching I wasn't able to find anything else that quite fit the bill already in operation as far as accessibility and simplicity. As such I decided to begin the process to start such a show up myself. It is not aimed at people who live and breathe Starcraft on a daily basis, but more the average person who passes a few idle hours a week watching and playing a game they enjoy. I wanted something that would be accessible and compact to allow for integration into busy schedules. I also hope that this can serve as a starting point for newcomers to Starcraft when seeking tournaments to watch as the vast array can be quite daunting at first.

So I invite you to come watch the pilot and subscribe to the channel. I will be releasing the first episode next week and will consistently strive to improve the show. I am new to this, but I will do my best to make something great for the community and learn as it goes on. Constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated. Please feel free to share it and use it as a tool to get friends of yours who are new to Starcraft into watching online tournaments.

feedback would be too much editing in between sentences so it looks "jumpy". I feel if its filmed continuously as you're talking it would look smoother. well maybe if you do it CNN news report style people won't notice it.. like you talk first then the images in the main screen become a topic on what you're talking about like if glade wins a tournament and you're covering that pictures of glade, the prize pool, the brackets, etc.

Love the initiative, the HD quality and the intermissions so far hydroid!

Thanks! Yeah, I know that jump cuts are bad, but at the moment I'm actually terrified of the camera and "public speaking" so I'm working on challenging my fears with this and going for it so it is something I hope to work on so that I can speak more fluidly infront of the camera. I like that idea of using a picture or something that can help disguise the cuts though. I wanted to do this pilot to get feedback just like that so the first episode is less rocky.

AWESOME IDEA!!! I watch too much, probably more than I play so usually up to date, but this would also be a good opportunity to perhaps push the upcoming local events? I'd love to be able to further the NZ eSports scene from a place like this.

great idea to do a pilot before the first episode. day9 always said he was very nervous and reserved at the start and look at him go now! im sure you will experience similar results if you stick with it! =)

Furthermore the idea behind the show is solid and I would love to be able to get this sort of information in one easy to access format. good luck!

As a way to work on my camera fear I've also decided to start vlogging. Pretty much any time I think of something to share whether it be a thought or extra little something that doesn't quite fit in the show I'll pick up the camera and do a vlog. For now these will be unedited and done in 1 take to force me to work on just being able to talk.
