Hi there...I want to know how should you break through something like that with toss? Don't comment on the macro...I don't have the apm to be able to macro and micro well at the same time. I really just want to know how are you going to break through that....any compositions or tactics? http://www.sc2replayed.com/replay-videos/14960
I thought you had the game won when you did the double drop, you just needed to macro better. I think there were a lot of mistakes in general. You had 2000 mineals at around 8-9 minutes, but no gas, and didt take your second gas till very late.
You could've easily gone 3 gate robo and crushed his two bunkers, you'll need sentries to forcefield the bunkers, zealots to tank damage and stalkers to deal them, with an immortal to boost damage. Once the zealots are dead, warp in more and push again. The sentries prevent scv repair by forcefielding the scvs. Check out the build on liquipedia, it's a pretty useful build, and can easily break something like a 1 rax bunker expand.
But you had him even with your twin attack on the main and the expo you just needed to re-inforce with zealots continuously but you got caught up with micro-ing your immortal instead.
I think what happened after was a consquence of not macro-ing properly, There are ways to stop a goody-esque push, but then I dont think that was your real problem.
Yeah, I forgot I was working on only one gas which messed up my reinforcements and I had to warp in only zealots. That really caused my mins to overflow. Thanks. But I am thinking about how to break through the pf things...maybe another terran would do that to me in another mid game or late game.
I got up to 8 minutes and you were floating 1500 minerals. And you've got 3 gateways and a robo on one gas.
I can't NOT comment on the macro. If you don't spend your money properly then you cannot punish a terran for doing a really risky expansion. And you can easily punish that dudes expansion with 4 stalkers going around his bunkers entirely and hitting his mineral line. Add in a sentry or two for dick forcefields and you'll destroy someone who tries a gasless FE like that on metal.
Silver Pharaoh, it is a mistake to ignore macro problems. If you are in a situation where you have to decide whether to macro or micro, choose macro every time. Micro will help in the moment, but if it messes your macro, then you won't have the army to capitalise on the advantage you've gained. If you macro and lose your army, you're now in a position to fight back with the new army you're building up. Starcraft is won on macro first, then micro.
The best thing to do to break this is not to let it happen in the first place. The Terran took the map uncontested - complete map dominance man. It's macro that will have you avoiding this (more bases, more units.)
Also as iaguz said Carriers would break it but it's best not to get yourself into a situation where you're 3 bases to 6
