I was going alright on ladder winning most games in every match up was going well, then out of no where just hit this massive losing streak not really sure why i haven't changed anything i don't think :\ I thought maybe it was becasue i was moving up and now versing harder players but now i am versing worse players than what i was before and still losing =(
Ill upload some of my replays they arent in any particular order or anythin just my last few games i think i won some, but just a general help of why i am losing so Much >.<
Perhaps you just need to take a short break or something. Just relax those SC2 fingers a while. And I do mean something like a few days or even a few weeks if you feel so.
The more you care about losing, winning or your ranking, the harder it is to handle losing.
Try focusing on improving yourself rather than to win.
You can win 10 games in a row vs much weaker opponents and still learn nothing, or you can lose 10 games in a row vs much stronger opponents and learn a lot.
If I find myself on a losing streak I just cheese. (streak = 5 in a row or more depending on game length).
I (sometimes) break the streak and get to practice somthing that is good to know for "best of X" matches
If I lose the cheese I turn off starcraft and do somthing else
I don't care about ranking or anything, I just don't losing particularly fun :\
So if i start winning more I can have more fun xD therefore be more encourage to play the game more and get better :\
hehe I understand that feeling.
I used to be like that, losing make me rage, and mad with myself. At that time, my wining rate was actually quite high (57-60% even when I'm in the top 200). Cause I only used 1 or 2 strategy every games on ladder, keep making it better and better til perfect. And as playing on ladder, your play-style or strategy is so hard to predict. It went pretty well.
However, I found that it's so stressful and not fun. I try to watch more streams, learn more strategies from pro & creative gamer, even create my own strategies. I do it differently every game (of course, for 1 strats I will need at least 4-5 games to master first..)
Anyway, I believe changing strategy, changing play-style, being creative will not only give you much more fun, but also help you a lot in your skill level. Extremely good in tournaments when you have to do BO3 or BO5 to win.
You begin with 1 gate expand on very close position vs 3 rax. For me that's a BO loss if he had made a correct 2 rax instead. You manage it well and you're in commanding position at 11:49 ahead in drone, an expand running when he just begin his in his base, ahead in army food and a obs in front of his base
13:25 : Why don't you scout his base with your obs ? Here is your vision, you don't see anything. No map control either, no control of the Xelnaga, no pylons spread on the battlefield.
What you see:
What there is :
Between 15:09 and 16:02, you don't warp units with Gate available, then between 16:32 and 18:10. Add a supply block at 108 supply, he had caught you on on army food. You're expanding quicker though. Beware of not teching and building structures too fast so you can always build and warp units with all your available structures. The game was very calm and you had a lot of sentries, search hallucination to have free easy scouting.
You still not seeing anything on the map and in his base. If he was on 4 base with banshees, you would have been in bad position.
23:31 : Playing traditionally, he sacrifices with drops army food to kill your probes and divide your army:
Beware of not letting your zealots march into storm ...
26:31 : You win. That engagment was bad, you should have attacked from the south, the hill between your bases. There he was protected by his barracks.
It would be best to only post defeats, as victories show less mistakes. I will do one or two of the 2 other tomorrow if I have time.
Strong points
Good timing for expands
Decent defense on drops
Very good army composition
Good rhythm of teching (a bit to fast in the middle of the game)
Nice Storms
What could be improved
Scouting : That was really not enough. Spread pylons, use hallucination, move your obs.
Direct consequence of lack of scouting, you're too passive and timid. You have to control that map, be very active with your units, put the on the back foot, exploiting your advantages when you have.
Engagements : Beware of the combo storm + charglots, you don't want them to got stormed.
Replenish your drones faster and take a 4rth then another expand as long as the game last.
As you go up the ladder you will be against harder players, so naturally the first few times you will lose. It gives you an opportunity to correct more mistakes that you have in your play. Remember that losing makes you realize that you have things you need to improve on, while winning, although satisfying, doesn't let you improve your mistakes because you think you're already good enough.
I like how you have done that I hope i can now do something similar with my own replays =D
And I shall take your advice on board, thats some good work man. Thanks =D
You're welcome. I'm happy it's useful.
Let's see another one, the short one:
No screenshot needed there :
Random player,
He tells you he won his 80 last TvP,
You scout no gas, you're very mistaken in thinking he's going 1 Rax Expo,
Instead it's a proxy 2nd barrack,SCV Marine All-in, you can't block the large ramp with 2 sentries
In unavoidable consequence of all of that, you die.
The wrong part was to guess he was going for 1 Rax expo. A general rule is each time you have to guess, you're doing things bad because you're relying on luck instead of certainties. Of course we must often make conclusions from what we see, but the more precise our observation, the better, the less perecise info we have, the more we must play safe.
1 Gate expanding on 2 gas I think was not safe enough against that sort of cheese.
I'm not good enough in to tell you what exactly you should do. I asked Nirvana here is his answer :

Counting enemy workers is still magic for me but if you can do it I guess that's how you should make the difference and then "it fails so hard". gl to you.
Seek help to understand what he said and how to react. I can't tell you. Personally I would just 2 Gate and try to see what he is up to with 1 or 2 stalkers and zealots and try to do damage if I can, but that's just out of "common sense", not knowledge of what top players do.
Might do the last one tomorrow if I have the time.
For me, the losing streak I had helped improve my gameplay now. You should always try to learn the mistakes from your loses even though you would feel heaps frustrated after each lose. To be honest I don't feel angry/frustrated anymore. Also taking small breaks can help as well.
When I go on losing streaks (lost 15 games in a row once ) I tend to start focusing on one area of gameplay to improve, regardless of winning or losing. I'm currently going into a slump at the moment, so I decided to focus my all on keeping my minerals and gas low. Of course because this is my main focus I'm still losing a lot, but I'm noticing that I'm starting to spend a lot better, so it's not all going to waste ^_^
