It's the weekend and I have plenty of time to play sc2. For some reason, I just don't feel like playing. I still desire to get better and want to play....weirdly I can say that without negating my previous comment because it makes sense to me at least. I've been practicing a lot lately and have been getting better. My lack of wanting to play isn't ladder fear, etc. I think a big part of it is that I don't have much of a gaming community to around myself. I have a few friends I play customs with a couple times a week, but really nothing compelling me to play, to get better etc. I'm a gold on NA, and I've found a couple "practice" groups that I tried to get in etc, but they have all seemed to fall apart before they even got off the ground. For any WoW (or ex WoW like myself) players, I think what I am looking for is something the equivalent of a casual raiding guild. I don't have time to be hard core, but would love to be able to log in and have an intelligent conversation with a group of people, to be able to play with different people and get to know them. As a WoW player I found that the major addiction of it was the social aspect, you get to know people and they get to be your friends, I'm looking for something like this in SC2. I've made a post similar to this in TL a while back and got trash talked for a while about it. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Although I have deviated from my original reason for posting, I feel that what I've said is a good representation. For anyone thinking of asking, yes I have tried the practice partner threads etc, and that's not exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for reading my wall of text, any constructive replies are appreciated, flames are expected.
If you want to get better, play more, whether that be ladder if you don't have anyone online, or customing with people better than you.
If you want to play with some good friends and chat about the game, join a clan of some sort. BSG clans are never too serious and you can meet some great people.
I was where you were at a while ago, it turned out I didn't want to get better, I just wanted to be good without any effort.
from the sounds of it joining clan ToR would be good for you they are a bronze - masters team who are chilled and joke around a lot there channel is ToR on sea idk about na
