With dwindling interest and Zergtastic's departure (who has been the main organiser for most of the last BSGs) sc2sea will be announcing the closure of our regular BSG tournaments. It is only normal for communities to look at their situation and then re-evaluate themselves and evolve for the better. Although demand for the BSGs hasn't been high, in stark contrast the BSGCL has been widely popular thus far, and hence from this moment will be the main weekly tournament that would cater to the BSG population on sc2sea!
A big thanks to the official BSGCL Admins, Maynarde, Synizta and TAEdarus, along with other helpful members like Souljah who have made the transition successful and are now managing the BSGCL all by themselves. BSGCL enters the play-off stage this Thursday/Friday with the two favourite teams being Kelvin's Army and ToR, both 5-0 and undefeated in their groups. BSGCL news will now be posted on our front page regularly and more support will be given to ensure an even stronger Season 2 with more team signups, a revamped format as well as a dedicated team for players with no clans, so every BSG player will have a chance to participate.
Lastly, lets not forget the BSG organisers and streamers who have made the THIRTY-FIVE BSGs happen every single week for the last 9 months! In particular the organisers Skybreaker (at the start) followed by BakaInu and Zergtastic! Not only was it a platform that gave lower league players their first taste of competitive action and spur them on to become better, it also paved the way for many newer casters to get awareness and establish themselves - e.g System, Jester, MeatEx, Hut, Sixth. Recall how FXOUnstable cast our first BSG, and then went on to cast GSL!
Thank you guys for making the BSGs such a great success! And Zergtastic gets a repeat mention because he did especially much from the beginning to the end! We look forward to regular BSG Open players joining clans (Hey clans are awesome!) and participating in the BSGCL!
I lost count of how many BSGs I've hosted many weeks ago. Its great to see that so many players were able to strive to improve themselves through the tournament and get their skills to where they are today. Im proud of the work I've done as a tournament admin and have never planned to permanently remain in managerial roles in the sc2 community. I've always wanted to become primarily a dominant player and have more time for myself, and this is a necessary step for both of those goals to be achieved. Good luck to sc2sea in the future in keeping totally badass tournament admins!
Well, its been fun! Never got past the initial ro64 but it was good experience Special thanks to the organisers and glfh to Zergtastic! Looking forward to next season's BSGCL

Proud to be Nunquam redono, nunquam deditionem
Big props to all of the guys that helped run the BSG Open. It was a great event to enter and have some fun. Looks like I'll have to start joining in the Community Open once I have internets at home again.
I can see the logic behind but I am sure catering for every player in the community is something you should still strive for. Maybe if you just asked around I am sure you would get a few players who are interested in running it. Even if you cut down the prize, It will still draw a lot of interest as it always has.
Sad to see the departure of this. I first played in BSG #3 which was when I was like.. silver. It brought the competitive side out of me, and all I wanted to do was win. Without the experience, without 15raxing off 3base, and being clueless at whatever I did, I would have never got into this game / e-sports scene. I remember how Kringe was my rival and we always use to say we would meet each other somewhere along in the tournament (preferably finals). Hah.. how i lost to him. Good joke -_- never going to happen again mate ♥
Haha you sort of left Kringe behind.. Kringe is still in diamond and plays shit loads of 3s (in fact he bugs me to the moment i go onto bnet) while you are in Masters... And hey system, you can always cast the BSG CL for us, we are sort of running low on casters... Its usually the admin team that casts lol

Drop hacks, gotta watch out for dem Drop hacks.
Im proud to be continuing the BSG in terms of the BSGCL. I'll be spending as much time as i can with the other admins, bouncing ideas of one another and as well trying to sort out new changes that will only benefit the League.
I never won a bsg. I r sad now.
But now ToR can start our reign of dominance over the BSGCL. -evil laugh-
On a serious note, Ol' Zergy is awesome for obvious reasons, Baka is awesome for obvious reasons, Sky is awesome for obvious reasons and anyone that ever helped admin/cast is awesome for obvious reasons.

While it's sad to see something great conclude; ultimately all good things must come to an end. Big shout-out to all the people involved in the BSG Open, especially to Unstable for his contributions in the early days and Benji for his awesome casting/streaming; when often times Benji was insanely busy!
As far as I'm aware they haven't scraped Saturday entirely, just the BSG Open. I would be devastated if my weekend was suddenly half as long. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
