So I drunkenly used up my free name change, and now go by the moniker PantlessPete....and I REALLY wish I didn't. I'm more than happy to fork over $10 to get it changed, but I can't work out where on the site to do it. When I go to Account Management, name change is greyed out and just says "Coming Soon!".

But I've seen players change their names multiple times...is this not available for SEA for some stupid reason? I would REALLY like to go back to Avelestar, or even Peteling....but not PantlessPete!

Sorry but as far as I've heard there's no paid name-change yet! Pretty irritating

Atleast whenever you beat anyone they'll probly get pretty mad at losing to someone called PantlessPete :P

After implementing all these micro-transactions in WoW, think of all the cash they can get from Starcraft by doing the following:

1. Paid name change
2. Paid identifier change
3. Premium service to show losses for players who can’t see it
4. Paid win/loss removal
5. Paid re-placement matches
6. Paid input limit removal
7. Premium service to report complaints about Terran

So many possibilities!

Apparently it'll be coming as a paid feature "soon"; keeping in mind this was said when the free name-change was first announced, so no-one is quite sure as to when it'll appear.

And yeh blizzards "soon" could be any where between.. lets say.. a couple months.. to a couple decades.

I have emailed blizzard about this already... got the response that they plan to implement it 'soon'. And they weren't prepared to change it for me even if i paid for it.
I don't see why they don't have it, surely they have the same fundamental system in place on WOW... but i guess we just have to wait.

I like the idea of having a free name change each season, but they should really implement a feature for you to change your clan-tag whenever you want to.

I guess it's because of the process of changing it and to prevent people being absolute douche-bags and just simply changing their name to avoid any repercussions.

Most probably he has been buying new accounts. I don't think Blizzard would just freely allow name changes to anyone who emailed them, if they did; then I'm sure you wouldn't see it as a paid option (in WoW, or in the future of SCII). The only time Blizzard would offer a "free" (read: forced) name-change is if for some reason your name is deemed offensive in some shape or form (incl. offensive language in another language) and you'd most likely either have to rename yourself.

That said, you can't just email them and say "LOLS SORRY WAS DRUNKEN N I RENAMED MYSELZF SUMFN SILLEE" to get a free name change.
