I'm here to tell you guys about the club I am forming at Monash Uni, Clayton. No paperwork has gone through yet but yesterday when I originally posted my idea to create one on teamliquid there was an huge positive response. This club is designed to bring together the many small pockets of friends who play SC2 at uni and create a group where people can go to talk about starcraft and practice. I'm also planning to run many events such as BYOC/online tournaments, practice nights, LAN parties and viewing parties.
Please post replies in this thread to express you interest or you can contact me on bnet.
My ID is hillburra.976 and my email is cchil1ATstudent.monash.edu
I usually play on NA rather than SEA because I tend to get consistent delay on NA but huge spikes on SEA
This is a great idea, I hope to see it come to fruition.
My experience with the current C&S admin has been a little rocky. They seem to be very inconsistent with the clubs they choose to start, also they emphasise a rule that a club can't be started if it is too similar to an already established one. So my only concern is that the Video Game club already includes some SC2 in their events, so IMO you should focus on differentiating your club from theirs. Apart from that it should be straightforward, I have no doubt in my mind that there will be plenty of people interested in joining!
It'd be great to see an established community for things like spectating professional matches, coaching by higher league players, day9 style funday Monday custom games, and of course the tournaments. C&S love descriptions like that, and make sure you include a lot of words like "community" and "socialising", they eat that right up! Haha
