ggBet.net is entering beta and we need some beta testers from the Starcraft 2 community.

Whats is ggBet.net?

ggBet.net is a little project I have been working on for a few weeks. Its an eSportsbook specifically built for Starcraft 2. You can place bets on Starcraft 2 events and matches using our virtual currency. Just like any other sportsbook you can place both straight bets (single bets) and parlays (multiple combined bets).

All our odds are set in-house so you will see a wide range of events being covered. We will be starting off with the bigger events such as MLG, NASL, GSL and the TSL. As things progress we will be looking to set odds on as many events as we can.

ggBet is 100% free to play and has absolutely no means of depositing money. This means anyone and everyone can play.

We really want as much feedback as possible from the community. At the moment the feature set is pretty basic, but I'm ready to build it into something really exciting. I have alot of ideas, but I'm really keen to hear what you think of it now, and what you would like to see.

One feature I have created specifically for the teamliquid community is embeddable match graphics. These graphics can be posted in match topics on the forum and will automatically update as players place bets. That way you can see which players are being backed and on which maps in real time.

This is cool, the functionaliy aspect seems awesome but the user interface could use some work.
Anyway how is this different from what TL/gosugamers have? Unless you're gonna eveuntually incorporate real money then thats a tricky issue haha.

Just uses a point system for fun with no plans of real money but its popular in the SEA community because all the bets are of SEA events which dont get displayed anywhere else.

The key difference between what we offer compared to tl/gosu/seabet is that we set actual odds on all the matches. In that way its more like a traditional sportsbook where you bet on the odds. You can also combine multiple bets into a multi-bet like at traditional sportsbook.

Were not looking to turn this into a real money gambling site at any point. Thats would require gambling license and endless regulation. It would also present us a great risk, we would be gambling as much as anyone using the site.

SEAbet, gosubet and liquibet do not provide odds and therefore are more like a tipping contest than an actual betting site.

Were happy to provide odds on any event ppl want to bet on. So if you've got a show match or a tournament coming up just let us know via here or TL or directly on the site and we will get some odds up asap.

Were also looking to integrate with the community and contribute. So if you have any ideas let us know.
