Yes, at the title describes there is no more pro level BW. Pro League and the final OSL have finshed.Such a sad day. I wonder does this impact you at all or all of you just purely SC2 fans? I hope now I can concentrate on SC2 more hopefully!

R.I.P Brood War

All things eventually reach an end but when they do its usually because of something else that is newer and better. Such is life! I loved Starcraft 1 but for a long time to me it was a nostalgic memory already that I looked back fondly on.

Starcraft 2 is now the future and I'm excited to see how the elephants will perform.

Although I'm not entirely well acquainted with Brood War, I've tried my best to watch old VODs of Foreign progamers and read up on almost every foreign and korean professional article on the Liquipedia BW ever since I picked up SC2 and watching the last OSL, how passionate the audience, the casters and the host was... it made me feel like I was a part of the scene all along. I'm sure a lot more people will miss it more than me but I think nirvAnA's post describes it all.

I'm sad I didn't notice Starcraft earlier. This summer being the first time ever even watching it, I've gotta say its much better than the halo community and while I loved it.. this world is much bigger and better lol. But, I do know what its like to have to move on to the next game, halo 1 to 2, 3, then reach.. I can't really imagine what its like to have a game in competitive play for as long as SC1 has and then having to move on. With that all said, I hope to be apart of SC2 for awhile

Its a sad thing that the pro BW scene is no more but it had a very good run and unfortunately all good things must come to an end eventually. BW went for quite a while, about 17-18 years which is a really long time in terms of gaming.
