After the success of season one of the Highschool Starcraft 2 League we are back for Season 2! As always this an initiative to increase awareness of Starcraft and e-sports in high schools and hopefully from the success of this league, one day it will be accepted within schools. This season we are sponsored by Tt eSPORTS so a big thanks to them for their support. We are now looking for schools to play in season 2 of the Highschool League, to sign up simply post your rosters with ID's, League, Race and school name.

Format:
Four best of 3 1v1's
One best of 3 2v2
All games are worth one point and they all must be played out, the team with the most point after each match will be the winner. The 1v1's will be played simultaneously and the 2v2 will be played at the end.

How about instead of having a merc team you assign a mercenary to each individual team for example... Balwyn High School takes Techtron... MHS takes Delete and soo forth... and Title them as Mercenary...

I think this would be better; especially considering the high skill level of the current mercenaries. O.O

But I think this would have to be done after everyone's signed up and we have a full list of merc's, and then distribute them evenly amongst the teams in order to balance up skill levels throughout all teams as well as possible, so we don't end up with one team with a full roster of masters level players and another with all silvers :P

Shouldn't be allowed to have more than one GM in each team, maybe two. Wasn't that the rule for CSL? Otherwise its a bit hard on the teams who have lower league players which they have picked just so that they can get a team together. I just don't think teams full of GMs, off racing or not, is really in the spirit of the competition, but that will be for the admins to decide.

Hey all im thinking we have to many Mercs . so in this Videogamers Opinion the mercs should be spread out over the teams as there are so many of them and that some teasm already have 6 people . so maybe a drafting system between teams under 5 people ?

Well, this is my POV. At the moment people are saying mercs should be spread out because of the skill level. This would be true, if it were last season. Have you seen the people on the other teams? Most teams have at least one grandmaster. Another problem I have with splitting the Pineapple Marauders up is this. Last season we were like a family! THIS is what the High School League should be about, a bunch of friends having fun playing Starcraft, the best game in the ENTIRE UNIVERSE!

regarding strong mercenary team:
since it is bo3 1v1s just make sure the matchup isnt insanely unfair, i.e. GM vs bronze, and i reckon that will be alright, make it like GM vs Masters, if other team doesnt have GM or Masters just dont use GM that week...
just try and make it fair by saying teams should try make it BSG vs BSG and P/D/M/GM vs P/D/M/GM if possible, this is rather incoherent by my thoughts are everywhere at the moment, cookies if it makes sense to you

I agree with this, I think I will enforce that more heavily this season to have similar matchups. For teams with less depth than I will spread some of the mercs out so that there will be players in each league for each team.

Lastly I think I will also keep a main merc team, will have players from last season who want to stay together. This will provide a range of players for all teams so all teams will be on fairly even grounds

Edit: Also to balwyn kids you guys should have put up more of a fight in badminton today

Eh, I think if you're gonna make it BSG vs BSG, you can't really go P-GM; you need to seperate it out a bit more fairly (think about the MMR difference between low masters and high masters/GM). A platinum player will stand no chance against a GM, there's just no way unless it's a complete BO win.

I think that it should be that the players can be matched-up against players from one league either side of their current league. So a silver player would be matched against either a bronze, silver or gold player, and a diamond player would be matched against a platinum, diamond or masters player. That's how I see it anyway.

It's going to be a fair league. If there's any problems with balance, and the suggestions above your post don't work, offracing is always an option. I would be even happy to not play at all if that makes you happy.

Hey all ive made a video about this on my youtube but i would like to tll you all here. xsplit doesnt like me recording Starcraft 2. what happens is a randomly while recording or with xsplit open it glitches my pc out eg making cpu 100% and mouse movement laggy as ****. not only this when i try to click it doesnt register and then makes a Beep shound everytime on click. so far i have reinstalled xsplit i have updat3ed all my drivers i have new hard drive and done been checking other parts of my hardware. so as for Casting im going to try a new recording solfware to try and get you your Finals from last season. again im sorry and thanks for pacience even though i dont deserve it!

with regards to the teams I will probably distribute 1 merc players to all teams to balance it across the board, this will mean that the merc team wont be as big, which helps distribution of prizes and the teams will be more even. For most schools I dont think the 6 max will be too much of an issue, teams will have to decide within themselves on how to evenly distribute the prizes.

Have you tried FFSplit? I was using XSplit and then struggled a couple of times with it glitching out; FFSplit works better for me

original merc team will stay together, new mercs this season will be distributed. I'm looking at putting a starting date in two weeks so I'll be drawing up the details brackets etc. So be prepared for a launch on the 8th of September.

Also that means I will require school confirmation from all players. This is to ensure that all players are current highschool students as I am well aware that there does exist the possibility of student smurfs. Participants who are found to not be current highschool students will be disqualified and their teams will be penalised.

He is on the roster because last season you allowed us to let him on the team. So we had put him down originally as a member.

as far as I was aware there was no mention of him being an graduate but instead as a current student

Ok so i know i havent delivered on the Season1 Finals and its al my fault but i regret to inform that im giving up on my casting until at least ive finished school at the end of next year then i can think about sc2 and cast and where it might take me. but as of now i do not have the time and i find it a hassle to try to get myself to load up sc2 and have a working recording. so im officialy announcing to all here that i hereby declare i am no long the official caster for the HSL (For now i hope) and not a caster at all. i would like to apologize to shadow , and all the players on the HSL thanks for your support on the casts i have done but im throwing in the towel

Having drawn up the team and moving some of the mercenaries around, there were alot less people to move around then I had intended to. Teams have been balanced across the board. Mckinnon had to be moved into mercs to make up for numbers. So the teams so far are:

The numbers for the mercs are a little large but if I can get a few more players OR I know that there will be enough players every week then I would prefer to split the teams. The biggest worry if I do if I do split the team into two, there may be inactive players.
