Hi guys, I'll be doing a survey about telcos in Australia and Singapore. If we get about 100 responses it might be useful to pitch for future sponsorships.
Thank you all in advance for filling up this survey. This will be a part of a sponsorship proposal for telcos. Hopefully, telcos from our region will respond to the results of the survey in a positive fashion.

Reason: Combining the Survey Threads. Big Apology to Cyanide!
I use optarse. worst ever ISP to play on SEA
can anyone please recommend me the best isp to play on SEA server from sydney
I'm on Optus (since Cable was new) and just in the last 6 months it has started sucking ass.
SC2 is particularly bad for SEA. I did some research and discovered that this is because the SEA server is in Singapore, and Optus routes to Singapore though USA. So your network traffic goes all the way to West Coast US, then out to Singapore, then back. To make it worse Optus have oversubscribed their USA link heavily in the last 6 months.
"Apparently" other ISP's in Aus significantly outperform Optus for SC2 as they have re-routed Singapore traffic via WA or something. Check before you do anything, but I believe iiNet and Internode are two of these ISPs, and they might even get better connection to SEA than NA. I'm looking at switching myself.

It's pretty much only Optus that has the problem, as everyone else just rent their lines from Telstra.
The problem is that Optus don't have access to the cable out of WA which is the SEA-ME-WE-4 and have to use the Southern Cross cable out of Sydney instead. The problem is beautifully visible on this:
I've been with them for six months and my ADSL1+ speed (nothing better in my area available from anyone) gives me better SEA pings than the Telstra cable at my old place and my brothers ADSL2+ with TPG and less drop outs than either.
They even supported Day9 once with a small FFA tourney prize and you can stream the Day9 daily from their Freezone without even adding to your cap.
The reason for this is that I will need 50 - 100 respondents to make the survey reliable. I will be compiling data from Australians as Aussies make about 40% of the internet traffic here. Therefore, it is possible for a telco that has arms spread over this region, to be either interested in advertising or sponsoring sc2sea.com events.

Reason: Added SG url.
I responded too quickly to your survey, sorry. There is no telcos where I am. I said "other". But you had a good initiative IMO. Hope it works well. Even if it does not work it would still be a good initiative.
I've been with Westnet for something like 4 years now.. Its quite good for starcraft, but is quite expensive for it's download and upload speeds (keep in mind i'm in a rural town!)
