As a few of you know and for those that don't know, I got my ass handed to me at NRG today as well as being demoted from Masters. Basically I am out of practice due to various casting commitments, and today I realized that I can't actually be good at the game without training from time to time.
Most people will mope around and have a whinge (Actually I did as well) but instead I decided to get proactive and do something about it, and that's why this week, I'm going to be canceling my casting commitments and going full on training mode for the next qualifier on Sunday.
And because I'm such a nice guy, I'll be streaming my practice sessions with various high level players for you all to watch and hopefully learn as I do.
The Schedule for the week:
Monday - ZvT with TAriiChard 7pm -9pm (Podcast at 10pm)
Tuesday - ZvZ with nGenMafia - 7pm -10pm
Wednesday - ZvP with nGenLight 7pm -10pm
Thursday - ZvT with nGenWild 6:30pm - 8pm (Then Aus KOTH) Followed by Ladder after Aus KOTH
Friday - ZvZ withTASanchez - 7pm-10pm
Saturday - TBA (2 Sessions on Saturday)
I have asked a few players that have agreed to help, but don't know their availability, so this will be updated when I get more information
Good luck Ben, I'd been getting a lot of people asking me to speak to you about casting events and I was getting to the point of just telling them, to give you a break because you've had literally no time for yourself this past month!
You're from Singapore right benji? well i know you have some Singapore blood in you, you need to get rid of that rubbish and get some electrolytes into you
some advice from del

Take OxygeN for example. He was made to look like a diamond league player against Chinese players - is it a coincidence that China is also the Gatorade capital of the world? The word Gatorade actually means ‘Gaming Prowess’ in Hokkien. Also he is ugly.
The reason every Singaporean player relies so heavily on cheese and can’t macro is the lack of stamina that would otherwise be provided by a diet rich in electrolytes. In fact, a diet consisting wholly of electrolytes if possible. I think if Singaporean players ate less mie goring and drank more electrolytes SEA would be #1 server.
In conclusion, as every embarrassingly-endowed Singaporean asks his wife each night, you must ask yourself – “is it in you?”.
Dw man I got handed at nrg too. Drive to Syd then drink the night before. Not good. lEmme know if u want some games with me too I got a new pvz build that needs to be shared
Will definitely be watching all of these, I play terran, but down in lower league it really doesn't matter. I reckon any tips given will help me too much to pass up. Excellent idea Benji, good luck getting back to Masters.
I know what you mean Benji - I had a three day break after a 12 game winning streak (I though I deserved it) ...and came back to an 8 game losing streak...
It's so easy to forget the perfect builds and at the top level small mistakes can cost you dearly - good luck with your practice mate I'm sure once you're fine tuned you'll kick ass again.
Nothing was ever said about you being diamond, and I merely stated when we were doing predictions for NRG that your TvZ from what i've seen didn't fill me with enough confidence to get me to say you were going to win.
Yeah Benji I don't have anything against you either. When someone criticises me I take it personally, but unlike most I love it. Incentive drives me hard, and after what you said proving someone wrong gives me much more incentive than money. That being said don't flame me if I lose to a T or P

But yes zerg is imba. I can say this because I was a zerg player in bw. The concept of not having to worry about workers due to auto rally complements the ******* injection skill. All you do is move muta around while making banelings and when in a battle just aim marines with banelings. Talk about the easy micro. Even protoss requires more micro than zerg.
Spread creeps / move muta / make banelings.
Drops? Overlords? xD
I've played zerg a few times and its ridiculously easy, instead of focusing on moving drones to mins you focus on creep spread.
Sure some might argue terran is OP. The patch didn't really state the same. NexGenius: Protoss is the best race. Terran is by far the hardest to macro and hardest to micro. Sure I might be biased, but if anyone disagrees with what i said about micro/macro....

I'm not an idiot, and I understand everyone drops games from time to time regardless. You're a proven player and lets say in the unlikely situation you lose every single game you play, i'd be more asking 'what went wrong' as opposed to saying you're a bad player.
I'm also quite sad that you feel Zerg are an easy race, you also forget to point out how weak we are early game and how vulnerable we are to early game harrassment/allins. And even if we survive to the midgame, we don't have that big of an advantage to justify such a massive weakness earlygame.
I don't understand how someone can think zerg is easier to play than terran when you see high masters terrans with like 50 apm and I don't think I've ever seen a high ranked zerg with an apm of less than 120. I started playing terran and made diamond for the first time as terran in like two weeks. I changed race because it was the least rewarding shit ever. I actually think that if I was to choose a race just for the sole ability to get as high as I possibly can on the ladder, I think it would definitely be terran. I've even contemplated it before but I don't think I could bear sinking to that level.
I mean I've played most of my games as random, so I have a fair share of experience playing each of the races. While I obviously do like zerg as a race more than the other two. I can honestly say that I need to put in about half as much effort into both terran and protoss to gain the same results as I do with zerg. There is one thing I can agree on with Terran players and that is it's harder to micro and macro than protoss. Protoss is the race for the handicapped.

as much as i think that Z is harder to play APMin this game really doesnt mean much
What high master terrans have APM of 50? I play around platinum level, I don't spam, and mine is around 70, yet I still feel like that's not enough APM to carry out all the tasks I have to.
Zerg has the ability to produce mass drones in a second. If you work on defence you can utilise this strength. I know in some cases a perfect cheese can screw you over, but 90% of games good scouting will prevent this. Its a fact that if zerg isnt harassed they are pretty much unbeatable(by terran). In all fairness I think harassing whilst producing / expanding takes much more skill then defending your own base.
I think arguing about who is the best race and what race is easier to play than others is just stupid and counter-productive, and tbh yoon I cant believe you complain as much as you do about imbalance -.-;;
Protoss is the hardest race to play. I am not influenced by the fact that I only play Protoss.
Whenever I lose, it is not because my opponent played better or I made a mistake, but because they are playing OP Terran or Zerg. Whenever I lose to Protoss, it does not count because the outcome of pvp is random.
I am qualified to comment on balance, despite having never played Starcraft 2 at a professional level or trained for serious tournament level competition.
Whenever my opponent executes a strategy that prevents me from pursuing my optimal gameplan, or for which I was not prepared and did not react well, they are abusing imbalance, cheesing, and will never learn to play or understand the game as well as I do.

Do you not realize he's taking the piss out of everyone else in the thread you moron?
It's sad you complain as much as you do, you were kinda 'up and coming' a few months ago when i first saw you playing, but since you do nothing but complain about how hard terran is and how OP both the other races are now, i cant see you getting much further.
YYJ: Outside of my own resurgent confidence and ambition to take the tournament out, I feel like you are the top seed. I regard players such as Filthy, Azz, Deth (the more famous names) highly but I feel you are probably the strongest out of all at this current moment. I am probably not very informed because I have not played against Filthy or Deth in a while and only played 1 PvP game against Azz recently in which he was lagging. I may be very wrong because I have no idea the kind of training Filthy/Azz/Deth undertakes, but with them consistently playing against international competition, I most definitely could be very wrong.
Be aware that our podcast predictions are only our opinions and were done on-the-fly with relatively no research, discussion, so please don't be offended if you hear something you dislike, this goes out to all the players that are coming!
I hope we have a great time in the upcoming qualifier and subsequent tournament just socializing and having fun under a competitive atmosphere. Take ego away from talking, because talking proves nothing. The real deal will be the person who takes the tournament and the luxurious first prize.
Regarding race difficulties: I am sure everyone has their own opinion and most of us are relatively biased about our own. From my personal experience of having played all three races recently, all races has their own unique advantages and disadvantages. I won't go into too much detail about what I think of the races, but personally I find that Zerg is the hardest to play because I am always getting absolutely demolished by a variety of Terran/Protoss pushes/all-ins.

Anyhow it doesn't really matter which is the hardest to use, just the equality of outcome lol. It's just funny when people talk about OP without considering in which context they are saying it in. GL for tournament guys. I just wanna fking smash every foreigner that comes
I just wanna fking smash every foreigner that comes
Yeah i pretty much agree with this sentiment, not that im going, but i first and foremost hope an australian wins, followed closely by wanting deth to win :P
I think terran is hard to play. I don't know why. Too many units control and micro required. Same goes to Zerg. Maybe i'm just used to protoss hotkeys. And those who said protoss is hard to micro/play, i say balls to you.
