Leg, just when i thought you couldn't be more amazing then BAM. I dont have a GF (Insert joke about nerds and GF's here) but my mum (Insert another joke) was looking up SC2 stuff when she found out i was in WCS and somehow found out about Starjewelled....luckily her PC is about 50 years old and wouldn't run SC2 because she almost bought it just for that rofl
On topic keep up the good work Peter i expect to see her at WCS next year haha :P

2v2 Tournie should include some guy on guy action too. but have like a limit to only 8 groups imo or else it'll go for too long.
To make it more fair on lower leveled players we should have something simmular to the trials of xel'naga, where the obs gives more units /gold ect to the lower league players.

My own experience is so similar to Leg's that im quite sure its happened to so many people whether teaching friends or girlfriends. I think the only key point about teaching your GF is the "dont explode or she'll never play again" thing. My missus is pretty interested in SC2 from a spectators standpoint and i know she would like playing too, but its a fairly long learning curve for her. I got her doing a basic one base blink build against computer, she got up to normal i think so far. To be honest, i think the best thing we could all do for getting our respective girls into SC2 is to introduce them to -eachother-. Dum dum dumm.
Is it just me, or do the ladies have a thing for Aiur?
Edit: I think the initial problem for some Ladies when they havent played many fast paced mouse games in the past is that they need time to get their very basic mechanics down, so they feel fluent when operating the game. I made my partner play the campaign first, regardless of how much "practicing terran wont help!" :P - Get that crystal going and its all good though, 5some protoss missions perfect for getting any mans better half down with controlling units

Reason: BlahBlah
My gf knows I play "terrans" and that's about it. She has some pretty sold Mario Bros. skills (SNES emulator ftw) but has never played a PC game as far as I'm aware. But that's ok!
I have been talking to a few Barcrafty NZ ladies who all have SC2 playing partners about doing a fun night each week where we do some team games and they have some fun while learning to play, have a skype call with a few laughs etc!
If anyone else has a gf who would want to join in and have some fun there is no judgement at all!
Can't say my gf is interested in playing SC2 but I have infected her with the WoW bug
