Wow, thats sick for pig . I thought he only got a new laptop like last year too, haha.
But to me it seems like this should more belong in blogs. If you disagree I'd be happy to start a thread about how my parents just sponsored me with a laptop for university that i plan on using mostly for sc2/browsing forums anyway.
Racking up the sponsors Mr. Krensel!
I have almost the same specs in my Laptop and i'll tell you, its more than you need to run SC2 smoothly!
GO GO PiG!

He's also receiving funding to help him attend national and international tournaments.
Blogs aren't easily publishable and do not give sponsors half as much exposure.

I borrowed that lappy off a mate to practice at wcg! This will be awesome it's more powerful than my PC by quite a bit lol.
I think you kinda missed my point, which was this thread is pointless other than just blatant advertising you don't have to pay for on a site which AFAIK you are in no way affiliated with (If i'm wrong here I completely apologize in advance and feel free to correct me).
Don't get me wrong, it's great that pig got new sponsors, but you don't see xGKing posting a thread in the general section "WE GOT NEW HEADPHONES!" when plantronics sponsored them, or EG posting on teamliquid "We've got new keyboards!" when steelseries sponsor them... They pimped them massively on their facebook/twitter/own websites/blogs etc. as they should. But I dono, something just irks me about using a public forum as your own advertising space.
Pinder has a valid concern and we certainty don't wish for people to be spamming the site with their own advertisements and self promotion. I've addressed this issue the last time and will copy/paste it again here.
A few people have PMed me asking why TteSports is allowed to make "advertisements" so before I get accused of being a biased nazi dictator let me explain.
Most people just make advertisements that will help themselves. But in the case of TteSports they have genuinely helped the community, and we in return would like to help them (to a reasonable extent). TteSports meet this criteria because:
They have helped sponsor the last 2 SC2SEA master cups along with Eddie as well as team iCHOR tournaments and charity events.
They sponsor the team SQL
They sponsor the team Tt
They produce weekly quality game shows
They often have nice give aways
Mayo has asked for permission for this news post, as he always does
In general they encourage the eSports scene to grow further.
I believe its up to 4 masters cups now, not to mention a huge slew of products they have been giving away for their product reviews. I.e they could just write them themselves or use reviews from other communities but they give them to people in OUR community.
Yea so hope that clears it up. If its not eSports / team relevant like the new cpu you got thats definitely more towards blogs than a forum post. And for other guysyou generally aren't allowed to post advertisements unless you're done alot for the community like TteSports has, so yes a certain leeway is given to them.
As for this it was quite a big announcement, I wouldn't say its exactly like a Razer sponsoring Team Liquid announcement post, but for our small community where sponsors rarely happen its somewhat comparable and this isn't even a news item. Kinda like how I made the Xeria gaming new jersey threads forum post for Benji/Arnor without them even asking me. I just felt it was decent news to share and the Xeria gaming boys deserved it. Another similar example is how I gave deL the go ahead to feature the SQL boys as a NEWS item cause it would be good exposure for the SQL team and deL of course writes fantastic stuff.
Anyway not to worry any stuff we find in appropriate will just be closed - like the thread about the coaching site i closed earlier today from someone who wasn't from this community and was just randomly spamming his site on any community board he could find. Mayo however, is the total opposite of that and this announcement is something that should be celebrated.

Yeah in that case its completely understandable that they're allowed these posts. I take back any problems i had with the post being up
I had be holding off getting a mouse Id been looking at they make because id rather give money to a sponsor. Its safe to say Ill be getting it as soon as I can with the side note of mentioning pig sponsorship.
