How heavy is this mouse? i use a kinzu atm and love it for its shape/weight, but it has built in anti acceleration or something strange, which makes it less than ideal, so am looking for a new mouse. In a review i think i read you can decrease its weight by 22.5 grams? how much does this bring it down to?
Also very well done to the 5 reviewers, excellent write ups : )
It is probably heavier than the Kinzu, because it was heavier than my Abussus. It compares more to the Deathadder (or Mamba with battery removed) with all the extra weight removed.

Here's a review for you from another community that did the same:

I weighed the mouse in at 110g with no weights and 135g with weights and the rubber holder
hmm, I'd say the Saphira (which I use) is more suited to a claw grip as the Theron has a wider 'back end' (no pun) and is more shaped to your hand with its curves.

Mmm I'm upgrading from the azourus because I want extra side buttons and a slightly higher dpi and I believe Saphira will use a better optical sensor. The shape looks similar between those two so would you recommend Saphira over Theron? XD
Saphira is an Azurues with Side buttons and slightly better shape.
I personally use the Saphira over the Theron
Yeah.. I'd love to check out the Saphira - hope someone has one at ACL Syd?..
Anyway, I think it comes down to grip.. I hold the mouse between my thumb and pinky with three fingers on the leftclick/scroll/rightclick... and the Theron is soo comfortable to use!..
so i bought the mouse , aesthetically it is quite nice, sensitivity seems a little too much across the board (compared to my death adder) otherwise its pretty good,
EDIT: Figured out that the damned icon flashing was caused by the mice software, terminating the application removes the icons.

Reason: solution found to problem
yeah i tried the same polling rate / dpi and get sensitivity as close as my deathadder settings but still not the same maybe I just need to get used to it, so its ok
so i bought the mouse yesturday, here are a few of my thoughts on it that might help some people.
here is my mouse history -
- Razer DA 3.5
- RAT 9
- SS Kinzu
- Razer Abysuss
Of these i prefered the abyssus. I use a fingertip grip (which pretty much becomes a palm grip on this mouse)
Comfort
The Theron fits into my hand far better than any of these mouses did, and it has a rubber finish all over it which is far superior to the glossy sections that can be found on the DA and Abyssus. My pinky still hangs off the side, but I dont think this could be solved by any mouse shape, i think its just the way i hold it.
Both mouse buttons have a good degree of tactility, its easier to do things like stutter step with this mouse as apposed to the death adder which i found had very sensitive spongy buttons.
Performance
The tracking is perfect on my razer goliathus speed mouse pad. Formally the best tracking mouse I had found was the abyssus, this mouse feels the same.
The ability to set the DPI to ANY value, is phenomenal. This means that I could just plug in the mouse, set it to the same DPI I was using on the abyssus (1800) and i can play at my normal performance straight away.
If your having an issue switching from a razer mouse, its because the razer drivers actually decrease the sensitivity of your mouse, if you were using the mouse with no drivers (which makes no difference) then the DPIs will feel the same on your razer and theron.
All the other buttons work fine. The driver software is nice, it lets you change all the colours on the mouse (can have different coloured sections also), and you can adjust all your sensitivity and polling setting easily. I havent checked if they save on board or not, Im hoping they do as ill need to take this mouse to lans and often you cant download drivers there. There are some weird spelling errors in the driver software which is pretty weird, but it doesn't affect anything.
Cord is braided but not too thick. Weights that I took out, now it feels about the same weight as a DA.
The feet are more slippery than my abyssus, which counteracts the slightly heavier weight.
Conclusion
Best mouse i've used so far, very happy with it. Especially at the 80 dollar price point.

Sometimes different mice with different shapes/feet can feel like they are using a different sensitivity.
I suggest just playing around with the sens until you get something you are comfortable with.
