How do you slow down the tech of a Protoss if he has a Void ray out? That actually doesn't make any sense. Keep in mind you are on 1 base while he is on 2, even if you have a second hatchery down, you won't have any saturation.
I don't see you being able to build 2 queens by the time a void ray is out unless the protoss responds to creep at the base of his ramp with a stargate.
well once your hatchery is out you make a queen and you will be able to have 2 queens out by the time he gets the void this is because the protoss player scouts your base and notices that your still on one base which means you might be going for a roach all in so they build more canons and buildings to block the ramp slowing their tech enough for you to take advantage of it and also usually protoss will wall off with their gateway forge and cybercore thus once you destroy those he has to now build all of them again plus build voids and canons for defense all these are expensive~
Lets say I build a hatchery, 4 spines, 2 queens and a spore. all of these are minerals. if you see my main i pull my drones off gas and keep producing drones at my main to saturate the main and natural, for the cost of building all those units as a zerg it doesn't set you back too much because you mostly need gas in the later stages of the game.
In the end it ends up the protoss has to spend more and also messes up his BO and playstyle.
Thats what I think~
Krycek tried to use this strategy last night on BSG Clan League but it unfortunately failed.
It could have worked though if the protoss didn't canon rush his natural expansion. I must admit it is a very risky build, especially if the protoss go for a stargate.
The stream can be found there http://fr.twitch.tv/groalex/b/297358415 , it is the second game of the video.
I have seen the replay.
Maybe this can work against players who didn't react well enough (like the protoss player)
You bank too much $ though but I guess that can be fixed
