I was just in the shower thinking about how SEA tournaments often end rather abruptly and was thinking why don't casters interview the winner/runner up at the end of a tournament? I think its a great way to personalise the games played and build interest in the players.

I really enjoy NASL interviews even if it's just stephano calling TT1 "some random guy that's bad" or MC's konglish, or sometimes I get to see someone like Nightend and chuckle at his surprisingly weird english accent.

It's just something I really enjoy and was wondering if people think it's a good idea?

Positives:
*Build character identitys for players
*Allow players to shoutout sponsors
*Provide insight into the gameplay and decision making
*Gives finality to a cast, once the players are gone the tournament is truly over.


I can't think of any negatives so please bring any up if you can think of it.

those bastards! haha maybe put a msg in bnet chat during finals saying for winner to hang around? Or ask the tourney admin to get them to skype you before they get prizemoney!

Sorry guys but I have a slight necro fetish.

The reason I'm raising this corpse is to point out that I haven't been seeing too many live interviews of winners following tournaments! I really think this is a great little thing to help build up the players in our scene and let people see the people behind the battle.net IDs. Just a little pointer to round off tournament casts in a really nice way.

Yeah this is definitely a great idea, the viewers get more personal with the players, while also absorbing some analysis from the players point of view. Plus basically every major sporting event does it, and I've noticed in Starcraft 2 it's often extremely insightful and helpful. So yeah, definitely can't see a downside to this. Only excuse I can think of for not doing it is laziness. D:

I remember interviewing Satu when he won a wT Weekly and it was pretty cool to hear his thoughts on his games and the progression.. we did it for SASL Season 2 Finals too..

I'd love to incorporate this into tournaments and casting as much as possible sometimes (and understandably) a lot of players at the end of a multi hour tournament just want to get something to eat/drink or go to bed etc.

If anyone ever wants and interview I'm always more than happy to.. the more content for the community the better!
