$30 signup fee for qualifiers to a $200 first prize tournament... where is all this blizzard money going?
Ummm - $6k for the Nationals, $12k for Oceanic...... Blizzard technically gives us nothing for the qualifiers. As Dox said, these are stand alone events that happen to qualify you for the Blizzard Finals.
Just to further the point Inmaniac is making, running a National Circuit is very expensive. While you can certainly crunch your own numbers on a singular event, bear in mind the costs most people are often not privy to and a string of national events where everyone volunteers.
Any rules limiting players from competing in multiple qualifiers to give them a better shot at the WCS spot?
No. If you wish to travel to improve your chance of gaining a spot that is entirely up to you. This is direct from Blizzard: you are welcome to compete in multiple qualifiers (even after you've qualified).
Remember that this is also an ACL seeding event, so players like Moonglade & Rossi who have already qualified for WCS can still compete and earn ACL seed points. The WCS qualifier spot for those events would just continue down the placings

Right. That clears that up. Well obviously I'm one of the biggest supporters of ACL and what they're doing for the scene so hats off to you guys!
Wasn't trying to sound negative was just surprised at the signup fee. Hoping it doesn't hurt overall signups. Get ya asses down to these LANs guys!
