*Unfortunately Axslav has an NA lan to attend and Chobo as the player with the highest points will replace him.
The last 2 NA seeds will be decided in the final qualifier which you can still sign up for here.
Points:
Because the 16 man finals will inevitably have 1-2 no shows, players who have finished at least top 8 in the qualifiers will be awarded priority and the players with the highest points will be given the chance to replace the no shows. Points will be awarded something along the lines off this. In the event of tie break earlier rounds will be considered as well.
Top 8 - 4 points Top 4 - 8 points
This should encourage players the play in more qualifiers and also be a fair way to determine substitutes.
Thanx Bryan and SC2SEA for the chance to play in the finals despite not being able to qualify initially. Unfortunately, on Saturday I will be in China spending my huge Australian income on the much cheaper night life of my hometown Hang Zhou. Hence I will not be able to participate regardless.
Looks like the Axslav spot will be tightly contested between
MskiJabi, AsGcCHoBo, IrisAnother who all currently sit on 12 points and might have to start counting RO16 and Ro32 placings to help with the tie break.
doesn't really feel like a Star-league if its all on one day and its on NA?
Yea I actually wanted to change the name because its technically not a "SEA Star League" anymore as this specific format was based on what our sponsor wanted. In the end the other seal admins said to just keep the name for tradition and stuff and i didn't think people would make a big deal out of it so the name stayed.
would very much have loved for it to be league format into top 8 like last season, but realistically it would have been hard to get the top international players to hang around playing for 2 weeks (like in SEASL1) for such a small prize pool
cause the international players don't have access to SEA
yea im hoping a protoss qualifiers in the last qualifier too
Would be good to provide them with SEA accounts, it is a SEA tournament after all, I don't get why we have to give the latency advantage to NA players.
That definitely occurred to me. I figured not all of them may be using a re-localizer so it brings more complications like having to download / install a 6gb SEA client just for a day, whereas SEA players could just connect to the NA server by changing gate ways. Pretty much the same reason why the last Dox cup finals which had a SEA/NA mix and was funded by SEA donations was also held on NA, so as to accommodate the international players.
For the "SEA vs SEA" matchups in the later rounds (and whoever who plays Pet as he won the NA spot and will be playing a SEA player) the players are welcome to play their games on the SEA server if both players agree, like what happened in our NA qualifier.
i can understand but still find it to be very annoying, especially because the tournament is only on one day. Not to mention its basically disadvantaging everyone pingwise including the Koreans for what looks like to be only one American, QXC.
