After some time planning we're finally ready to unveil the nRv Invitational! These players have been hand picked by the leaders of nRv and the prize pool has come out of our own pockets (myself, Reere, and Peek).
We would have loved to invite many other players to this tournament and we know some of you may be disappointed that 'X' player isn't in the player list, but these are the players we have chosen to invite. However, not only is this tournament meant to provide entertainment for our viewers and fierce competition, but also to give the spotlight to some players we believe have deserved it and can compete with the best of SEA.

Thanks for saying this but you shouldn't say "this person should've been invited". Chances are they have considered that player already and there must've been a reason why they didn't.
Questioning invites in public not the best thing you should do..
Looking forward to this tournament. My guesses are Glade Mafia Pig Targa top4 in no particular order!(All zergs? of course.)
You made a post on cybergamer regarding our selection process, so I thought I would address it here since I don't have a cybergamer account along with some other posts.
Here is your quote from cybergamer.
Quote:
Why no Supremacy players or more different teams at least? I would've though you would expand your reach beyond 3-4 teams...especially since we declined some of these players and also bet their team(s).
Unfortunately we do did not invite players on a team basis, we invited the players we like to watch and also have consistent results in the SEA area, specifically Australia. So teams really do not make a difference here as it is a 1v1 tournament. In terms of your team "declining" players I'll give you the list of non nRv people we chose to invite.
No offence to you, but I highly doubt these players applied for supremacy and if they did I definitely doubt you would decline them.
To other people who are wondering the selection process we wanted a rounded tournament. There is no doubt that if Pickle actually picked the players with the highest rankings in Australia/SEA the entire tournament would be mainly ZvZ. We did not want this and tried to pick players from each race to enable more variety with the matchups and hopefully make it more interesting for the viewers/players. People like tgun, Jazbas, Pokerface, Edge and Ninja (to name maybe half of the zergs) missed out due to this.
I hope this clears up some of the concerns regarding our selection process!

If I'm reading this you just said I'm not interesting.
A team's invitational tournament or any invitational tournament for that matter shouldnt need to justify why it invited xyz player if its holding any x-amount of prize pool. It's only doing good for the players and spectators who watch it. That being said, you do give good justification for why nrv chose the players they did!
The recently announced Gigabyte Tournament has a qualifier on the 2nd of June, are any participating players going to enter that qualifier? If there are enough that are the date will be changed for this invitational, if only a few we will find replacements for those players.

Thanks!
link please? Which gigabyte tournament? the 11K one?
After seeing Dox's blog (big thanks to Dox!) showing upcoming events seems like the 17th of June is a good date, especially since we have no players from Adelaide.
Date changed (hopefully for the last time ><) to Sunday, 17th of June.
Change: Fenner has taken neKo's spot as he has opted to pull out of the tournament. IrisAnother replaces Light. EveStrafe replaces cRSang. ToRBaldie to now cast with MiPhoenix.

Needs a protoss instead of me. Too many zerg = boring
Just wanted to remind everyone about the tournament and to be in the channel 'nRv Invitational' on the SEA server 15mins before starting time just so it can run smoothly and start without delay. Also, if any players are now unable to make this time could they please PM me to avoid no shows/walkovers so we can organise replacements.
Shame people can't let people know they can't make it in advance to something like an invitational. I'm not saying they have to play, but isn't it a bit rude if you just don't show?
*If anyone gave notice they couldn't come this doesn't apply to you*
After a long day the tournament has come to an end, thanks to all the participants and all the last minute subs who came in to fill the empty slots! Was a great tournament and fun experience for me and Peek admining a tournament, especially one with such gosu players.
Special thanks to Baldie and Phoenix who came in and casted the entire event .
