All teams have until the 29th of June to finsh off their games, after that the playoffs will begin

Welcome to the first season of the High School Starcraft 2 League. Initiative to increase awareness of Starcraft and e-sports in high schools and hopefully from the success of this league, one day it will be accepted within schools.

Format:
Four best of 3 1v1's
One best of 3 2v2
All games are worth one point and they all must be played out, the team with the most point after each match will be the winner. The 1v1's will be played simultaneously and the 2v2 will be played at the end.

Rules
Default time for games are on Fridays at 7.30pm, if players are unable to make this time it is up to the team captains to re-arrange to play earlier in the week or later. However as we all have school I know Friday or the weekends will be the most preferable time for teams. You have until Monday to play all your games every week, if they are not then there will be a walkover for the team that cannot make it.

Before each match teams will send me their lineups for the night. As this is a friendly tournament it will be mainly aimed at matching up similar league players together. Teams will send their lineup and rank their players from highest to lowest, this will match players up and hopefully get some even games. I will then send out the games lists to the team captains. Lineups must be sent in by Friday at latest or earlier if you have scheduled to play earlier in the week. Players must stick to the race submitted in the lineup each week. If you are not playing on friday night then you must inform me before friday night of your scheduled play day.

I will give a list of starting maps at the beginning of each week, losers get to pick the next map and each player is allowed one veto.

Disconnects - Unless there is a clear advantage for one player the disconnect will result in a re-game. If the player disconnects again then it will result in a forfeit, if there are any disputes send the replay to myself and I will determine the result.

Submitting Results
Results must be submitted by the winning team before Monday via this thread otherwise it will be deemed a draw for both teams. Results must be submitted in the example format shown below. All matches must be played.

Awesome to see that this is actually happening. Well done for organising!

Also I'm aware that there might be a slight skill imbalance if I'm to play in this, so I figured that I might sit out and let my team play instead if I believe it will be an even match. I'm considering this for matches between BHHS and all schools that aren't Melbourne or Balwyn (you guys have too many diamond players!)

But anyway, team captains, if you add me on skype (delete_12), we can discuss this before each match and hopefully figure out some compromise.

spartaz if you can organise your school within a day I can still accept some last minute schools. There is still one more potential school joining, so if any other schools wants to I'll try to fit it in.
We can have 1-2 more schools do last minute joins if they want to. If two teams join then they have to be ready to play by monday at latest, otherwise if its only one team, they'll have a bye for this week.

I can and would like to try my hand at casting. I know i suck and am at like a really low league but i understand many of the general principles/builds/what you should be doing i think but im just awful at actually playing b/c 1. i dont practice and 2. im not quick enough to macro/micro at the same time cause im bad...lol anyway if casters are still needed once this starts im willing to do some lower level matchups

go on tomorrow about 7.30 in the chat channel you might be able to cast some games for a few teams. I won't be back home until later so you should ask the teams if you can cast for them. I'll put your stream link up in the op if you can link me

with the seeding, can u seed however u want or must you seed best to worst...also seeing as our team is a bit weird and our like proper seeding is unclear (like im silver league but vsing/beating gold leagues) can we seed according to who wants the largest challenge etc. because tbh were all fairly equal in strengther

btw in terms of casting BSoDKaiser wont be live casting but is willing to cast 2-3 sets of games a week up to and including masters his email is steemdrice@gmail.com so email him ur games.
As for me if any of the lower league matches want to be caster im willing to do a few, time permitting and if i get confident enough in casting ability/get xsplit up and working, ill live cast some in future weeks.

for atlantis it could be a fun map just to trial out as it is being used in many tournaments and is very unique, if after a couple weeks it turns out to be quite bad I'll take it out

@EveTechtron just get into contact with potthead

To keep things interesting for gm players we might make them play offrace vs

like delete suggested :P

or even borrowing ideas from the tor inhouse tournament making them play with handicaps vs even lower leagues, anyways this will be discussed in the future

edit: final team joining at the very last minute will be Wesley College, as they wont be affecting any of the first round matches they have been added in.

if you guys want to finsh off the games by friday this week you can still do it. The two new schools will be completing their first games this week as well. Since its the first week not going to be too strict on the forfeits yet, will tighten up by week 2 though.

I would prefer players that I knew personally (not from other grades) just to make organising easier and quicker, so I won't be advertising it at school.

I think we'll still be able to have 3 players each week, so only one game forfeited. Maybe 4 if qsaurus wants to play.

I dont mean to be rude or anything when i say this but...this is a friendly/fun tournament...it doesnt really matter if theyr rusty as long as they feel like playing. My whole team is rusty as all hell, but we all still enjoy a casual game of sc2 and thats what this tournaments all about. As for not knowing them personally who cares, as long as u have contact with them and can harass them a tad its all good as long as 3-4 of them play on the day. (facebook and a very large team helps for this) Like by all means ignore those that utterly hate sc2 now but if they are still interested, playing casually, who care if theyr rusty this tounrny will help them improve/let them have fun, compete for entertainment purposes whatever.

yeah i know lol, all of my team aside from me are rusty as well. It's just that the guys that haven't played for 8 months don't actually care about sc2 at all. And with the academic competetiveness of our school, I honestly think they would see this as a waste of their time.

this, my team consists of players from every year level. I have a facebook group to keep in contact with everyone and each week I contact people through that.

lol I'm pretty sure my school is fairly academic and sporting focused as well but surprisingly there was quite a large turnout of people when I advertised for starcraft. you may be surprised as well.

But yeah as mentioned it is a friendly tournament, most of the teams have similar leagues as well. Its encouraged for the bigger teams to play players of similar skill levels anyways, as honestly its not fun for either player to play with a massive skill gap. Even with my team I try to match the leagues up as close as I can. Bottom line is you shouldn't worry too much about players being beaten about, the bigger teams should be playing similar leagues to accommodate you.

I thought I should post this here as well, the discussion was also in the captain's chat. Due to the oncoming exam period, nazereth is struggling to have 2 of their players each so, so as a compromise they will be able to play 3 of their games each week and the last two will be played after the exams. Also as I know most schools will be affected by the exams, if schools will be having difficulties for the last two rounds then they can delay their games abit. Primarily we'll try to finsh the majority of the games before the exams and afterwards we'll finsh of the last few games. After that we'll perhaps have a mini playoffs for the top 4 teams to find the winning team

On a side note next season is looking to be better than ever with more schools wanting to join in on the action. So I'll try to finsh off this season as quickly as I can to prepare for next season to begin with the new term

still haven't played the 2v2 or qedbanana vs empathy (as far as I am aware). we'll forfeit both of those games. Sorry, we just had an assessment to prepare for at school, and to be honest, organising games is starting to become a chore to me.

Okay with the oncoming examination period that is most likely affected over a third of all the players in the league, I will be relaxing the rules for the games to be played until the period is over. Teams that can't make the games will have a chance to make up for those games from the 15th-29th? Although the team that couldn't make it will start from a 1-0 deficit in scores, however is both teams cannot make it, they can start at a mutual 0-0.

This will leave time for the playoffs to run over the school holidays, so be prepared for that if you are in the top 2-4 teams. After the playoffs finish the commencement of season 2 will begin as the third term starts (for Victorian students, unsure how the timeline is for other states) and will likely to be with the support of Tt esports hopefully

people should definitely watch the 2v2's

fun to see when players actually know each other in real life.

edit: just some feedback, when obsing you should disable mouse scrolling and only scroll across the map with the arrow keys, set at like 20%? or something around there. Its much smoother that way and then if you need to goto another screen click via the mini map
