mGG is now a house clan of SC2SEA.com!!!
It is with much pride that we are able to announce the news that mGG has been accepted as a house clan. Other than recognising all of our efforts in making mGG an important part of the SEA community, this also gives us certain bonuses such as the hosting of our own sub-forums here on SC2SEA.com. Many thanks to Nirvana for his work in accepting us here and to everyone in mGG who made this possible. The home page to the sub-forums can be found Here.

Howdy all! Welcome to the official mGG clan thread. This where you will go to find out what's been happening and about to happen in the world of mGG. This thread will be updated on a regular basis with important news items such as upcoming practice and tournaments - It will maintained as a central place to summarise important sub-forum posts. So we ask that all members check this thread and the sub-forums on a regular basis.

Originally started as a friendly - clan by mGGThoth and mGGCwnAnnwn, we have continued to swell our ranks as more players join and old players are promoted. mGG now boast a variety of players across - levels. We are clan focused on helpfulness and friendly attitudes, with the main goal of improving each member to their full potential, without losing sight of the fact that SC2 IS FUN ^_^.

We strongly encourage the general public to join us in our public in-game channel (mGG) to chat and to play, be it 1v1 or team games.

Current Recruitment Status Link to recruitment page
mGG's current policy regarding recruitment of new players is to not actively seek new members. We encourage anyone who wishes to converse with mGG to join our in-game channel "mGG". Over time, people who have displayed commitment and courtesy in the channel (for instance, practice with our members, general conversation in the channel) may be invited into the clan by one of our captains.

Please remember, that mGG is first and foremost a community, and as such all new members must display an ability to add to our community through interaction. Your skill level is not a consideration during this process, only your commitment.

Please contact one of our captains (mGGThoth.669 or mGGCwnAnnwn.569, Asrathiel.926, mGGAlpha.599, mGGDrGooSe.266 or mGGMuex.195) in-game if you have any queries. Applications forms can also be filled out Here. But again, please remember that our in-take rate is currently subdued, and some time may pass before any offer to join is made.

*Please note that placing the mGG tag in your name is entirely a personal decision, and we will not require you to do so. Also note, that we do not look favourably on people who add mGG to their name before they have been formally invited into the clan.

This past weekend mGG finished up with our internal tournament. The tournament was played over two days, starting with pools the weekend before last and finishing up with the finals brackets this Sunday past. Firstly, everyone in mGG would like to thank mGGAlpha for organising the tournament and Asrathiel for administering the brackets. Secondly, a massive and heart-warming thank you to Duckville, who did a marathon 4 hour solo cast of finals. We even had FXOBoss stopping by, undoubtedly scouting out his next aquisition :P. Finally, thanks to everyone in mGG - players and specs alike. Despite the Australian internet's attempt to derail it, it was still the best local tournament seen in a long time, all thanks to you guys and girls. In the end though, it all had to come to a close, and congratulations go to mGGFender on 3rd place, mGGAlpha on his 2nd place and mGGSouth on taking out the top spot.

It's been a busy time recently in mGG and I have been completely neglectful of keeping our community updated. Firstly, let us congratulate our 3rd mGG GM, mGGSouth ! It's been fantastic to watch everyone in mGG advance so far so quickly, particularly in the past few weeks. Equally as deserving of praise, is mGGMuex's promotion into as a random player. Achieving masters with any race is a feat, but doing so with all 3 races is something to behold. Congratulations Muex. For those that haven't yet seen or signed up, mGG is hosting an in-house tournament for all members. Please sign up here or contact mGGAlpha. Our BSGP players are also pouring their hearts and souls into a mini clan league being run by Fusion Slugs every Thursday night. For those who are available, please make sure that you come by the stream (TBA each week) and support our little battlers.

Two pieces of news for you all today. Firstly, head over to this thread and show you love to Alpha for his fantastic showing in the yesterday's ACL Melbourne. Secondly, a thank you to everyone who participated in the mGG vs ToR clan war last week. Both sides showed some very nice games with ToR taking the BSG teir 4-1 and the PDM 3-2. For the past couple of weeks, mGG has been running a recruitment drive and generally making ourselves more prominent withint the community (for example, our GPD Open). I am pleased to say that since these initiatives, the clan channel (mGG) has never been more active, sometimes approaching 20 people. Not only have we met a lot of new people who find mGG a nice place to chill, but we have also been lucky enough to pick up some really awesome people. I'd like everyone to welcome our latest mGG members, and I look forward to getting to know you all ^_^. For those still thinking about joining mGG, come on down and say hi!

Wednesday night saw an impromptu GSTL style BO5 against clan FaDe. Many thanks to FaDeUndoNe for the opportunity for some fun games. Thanks also to FaDeDaedelus (Joshboy) for streaming/casting along with FaDeKreamy and our own mGGAlpha. FaDe managed a very strong showing, taking the matches 5-1. Great effort by everyone who played (Cwn, myself, Muex, Alpha, Fender) and better luck next time.

I'd like to thank everyone who came by for the BSG open practice session. We had some peepmode action, concentrating on our macro and just keeping those minerals down. It has been fantastic to see so many new faces in the mGG channel over the past few weeks, and I think we have really picked up some awesome people.

It's also that time of the week again, where I announce yet another promotion to masters! Rinehart, that loveable mothershiper, is our latest ! Our diamond ranks are looking pretty thin here peoples, starting spreading the word that we need MOAR! ^_^ GLHF everyone.

In the space of roughly a week we have gone from a single masters to possessing Five Big Bad Boys. You guys are gonna make me cry (Nothing Sus).

Tonights GPD open went off with a huge bang (results can be found in the archive section below). Some absolutely fantastic games with many of them going 2-1. Special mention to Baldie and PurePhoenix for casting, we couldn't have done it without you. Also don't forget to thank our sponsor Asrathiel (and myself :P) for fronting the money (^_^). Although I am aware that many of you would have gladly put in further money, we wanted to keep the pool relatively small. I'm sure you will have the opportunity to contribute in future! Everyone remember to tease CwnAnnwn for his giggling school girl act. But when nights are this enjoyable and succesful, who can blame him? Well done everyone. It was a group effort and everyone should be proud for making the mGG channel such an enjoyable place for the public to be. ♥♥♥

I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate Nomad on receiving his promotion to ! Not only does he now have the distinction of being mGG's first , but is also the first person to get whilst being a member of mGG. Our other two masters are Chase and our latest recruit FenderStrat . mGG now have a player of every race, and this is truly a testament to the success of the clan as a whole. Congratulations Nomad.

mGG has recently expressed its interest in extending its and levels. Please spread the word to all and sundry about mGG so that we can continue to support our lower leveled players even as our promotions continue to swell our ranks further up. Bronze/Silver recruiting thread.

The mGG vs TCP clan wars have been a resounding success. Our / teams won with a strong 4-1 as did our / with a 3-2 victory. The majority of games went to a 3rd game for both teams, proving how strong both clans are right now. http://www.sc2sea.com/showthread.php?t=4684. A huge thanks to everyone who played and/or watched. A special thanks to PurePhoenix for streaming the games as well. Everyone in mGG is exceptionally proud of our recent strong showings and look forward to more in our up coming events.

Although it may appear as though mGG has been relatively inactive (at least in this thread), we are currently in the process of organising some events in the not too distant future for the SC2 community at all levels diamond and below, so stay tuned for announcements ^_^. In the interim we would like to update our members roster as much as possible. Can I please get all players to check their details in the three rosters below and post or PM me any changes that need to be made. Thanks everyone and glhf!

Congratulations and thanks to all involved in our BSG all-kill tournament against ToR. Both sides ended up needing everyone of their 5 players, but ToR eventually took it in the final match. Also a massive congratualtions to mGGSouth for getting a hard earned 2nd place in the recent GPD Open. This qualifies him for the GPD Cup ($50 prize), where a top 8 placement will earn him a seat in the next Masters Cup ($105 prize pool). Let's all be sure to support him in these coming events.

mGG decided to create a new official clan thread to replace the original announcement thread that had been serving this purpose in the past. Original Announcement Thread. Questions have been asked about mGG applying for house clan status on SC2SEA.com. We are strongly considering applying for house clan status, however, we still wish to sort out some of the red tape such as logos, etc. whilst still dealing with IRL commitments. We do not wish to prematurely apply before everything is in perfect order. Stay tuned!

I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome mGGMuex to the list of substitute captains. Muex has always been a friendly voice in the mGG channel and always willing to lend a hand with games, including offracing to help people out with specific match ups. Well done Muex, and thanks for all the help xD. You must be legitimately in the Gold, Platinum or Diamond leagues (1v1 - SEA license) and you must be active on ladder.
Everyone will be checked for typical smurf activity designed to keep them in a lower league.

Rules

You must contact your opponent on Battle.net in the chat channel to play your match
You have ~15 minutes to start your Round 1 match; anybody that is not contactable after 10 minutes will be disqualified. This 10 minute timeout rule applies throughout the tournament.
Tournament admins or official streamers are always allowed and the only ones to observe your game
There is no switching of race during the tournament.
Problems/Questions: When in doubt about anything, contact an admin
Reporting Results: After the match has been played, you must report the result by pm to an admin
Disconnects: If a player disconnects, the game must be replayed. If a player disconnects for a second time, his opponent will be awarded a free-win. A win may also be awarded if the player that disconnected was significantly behind at the time of disconnection.
Contact an admin if you would like your game/replay reviewed.
Pauses: You must notify your opponent in game if you wish to pause. This pause should not exceed 5 minutes. Excessive pausing in game may lead to disqualification.
Bad Manner will not be tolerated. Anyone caught BMing will be warned. Further offenses will lead to disqualification. Any racist, hateful or excessively derogatory language may lead to removal without warning.

Technically speaking, yes, however, we allow dual memberships, and commitments to clans previously joined before us come first, he is still TCP, and if we ever had a clan war or something along those lines (or participate in the clan tournament etc) he would be playing for you, because obviously he joined TCP first.

Well everyone, as you know I have been away for quite some time, ofcourse, not by choice. My house has been undergoing repairs for all the damage incurred by the earthquake, as a result of this I had to move out for a short while. Well thats all coming to an end, Im told that on thursday this week, it will be finished, and I can come back, and therefore will have access to my old internet again.

Hey all, I promoted yesterday to platinum and was really happy and something i wasn't really expecting. Bronze to Plat in a season (played too much ) but sadly, I won't reach Muex's expectation to diamond due to getting my laptop smashed by my awesome mum -.-. When promoted, I overcame with excitement (Plat isn't that good I know but my friend who has been playing this for ages will be heaps pissed and i love pissing him off) and said "Oh my ******* god", parents are devout catholics and completely raged when they heard it and snapped my laptop. Woofuckinghoo. I won't be active anymore until i can somehow buy another computer :/. Thank you mGG for being an awesome community that i love to play and talk to. Made some really cool friends and hopefully with luck on my side, i can play soon! Davin out.

I wanted to let you guys know that I won't be on as much as I used to be because starting from next week is the beginning of year 12 and I need to focus on my HSC. This doesn't mean that I'll be quitting sc2 forever but won't be on as much. On weekdays, I'll be on for 1-2 hours per day and on weekends I should be on for around 2 hours or more. Hopefully, I don't get rusty because I am still committed to become better and participate in clan wars.

Also, I'm sorry if i posted this in the wrong thread.
