yeap, will definetly look into this as we wanna be accomodating as possible. we might hold one qualifer on the weekend as well.
seeds will be done based on ladder rank on the individual brackets up for the top 16 spots. we also plan to run two of the SEA qualifiers at a slightlier earlier time to accomodate you NZ users.
Sweet! Hope the dates of it is after this week.. Semester break starts on Friday!
This Masters Cup shall now also act as the first NA open qualifier for our new season of the SEA Star League, a $850 prize pool, 16 player double elimination tournament. The top two players from this event earn seeding into the SEASL. As the masters cup has a 280$ prize pool, this technically pushes the prize pool of the SEASL#2 to $1,130.
The mastercup is sponsored by FaDeBadger, Eddie and SC2SEA.
Reminder that you need to signup in the masters cup thread with your NA ID, so your opponents can identify you easily.
After discussion with the sc2sea admins, PiG and Mafia are allowed participation in the masters cup as it would be wrong to deny them entry to such a big tournament prize pool, but they will be inelgible to play in the other @$25 SEA qualifier community opens as they might knock potential winners out and they already won seeds. Should they qualify for this tournament again, their seed will just go to the next person in line.
The next community open will be held tentatively next Wednesday, at 7PM AEST and will serve as the SEA qualifier #2.
Baka and deL will announce the other NA qualifier dates shortly.
Haven't discussed this with the admins yet but it makes sense for you to be given the option to choose, (before grand final brackets are drawn up) and in that case if you win the #1 seed for the masters cup and choose to take the NA#1 seed, light has to play eehandgng to determine who gets the #2 seed for SEA qualifer #1. But this masterescup is a one off exception cause of the prize pool in the sense that after that, the other NA qualifers will have no prizes and people just play for seeds and qualified players cant play in that or the COs
Also the exact NA #1 seed vs the SEA #2 matchup is going tol be randomised to prevent pple from knowing who exactly they will be playing before the randomization.
