High School of the Dead is EPIC!! Definitely check it out, shame there's only 12 eps and an OVA though
I agree, its epic, especially with all the ecchi scenes and all, especially the ones on the OVA, if you know what I mean iAwesome
But still, the only thing that I dislike about that anime is that the ecchi scenes are a BIT too extreme...
BTW I've heard that the 2nd season of HSOTD is coming.

Earlygame ZvZ is basically a knifefight with suicide bombers.
Apparenly I've heard wrong. Sorry, no Season 2 for now. probably because the anime didn't do well in Japan.

Wow everyone on this site has a different taste in manga/anime than most other people/forum sites that i have seen. Everyone seems to not watch or favour at least the more popular shonens, which is pretty cool imo. Anyway, i'm one of those other people. xD My anime list is-
-Deadman Wonderland -Elfen Lied -Naruto / Shippuden -FMA / Brotherhood -One Piece -Fairy Tail -Deathnote -Angel Beats!
I also have more anime from a friend that i have not currently watched.
-Air gear -Hellsing -Code Geass -GANTZ -Gurren Lagann -High School of the Dead
-Bleach

That's why I come hear here :P I feel that this is one the very few anime/manga communities where there is actual discussion between different series, and not just a shitfest of trolling and trash talking.
this thread
As for the anime you've mentioned, yeah all of it is pretty mainstream imo. I suggest finding a currently airing series that is being translated and watch that, hopefully it broadens your tastes. That said some people (mostly /a/) say that there hasn't been any good shows recently.
And if you look back in this thread there are links to some of our anime lists
Anyone here also read manhwa (Korean manga)? Currently reading Tower of God, City of Dead Sorcerer, Under Prin and Ares. They are all pretty boss series and are released in color. Just have to learn Korean now so I can browse naver.
I'm such an anime noob but i've watched 19 episodes of Death Note which is absolutely AMAZING. This would have to be the most i've enjoyed any tv series.. surprising it's an anime considering i've only focused on like pokemon and dbz haha. I did see an anime movie ''Paprika'' which I recommend to anyone also.

Could anyone recommend more serious anime to me?
I love it when people realize that most anime isn't actually for children at all xD

I'd recommend Code Geass, but i'm no expert.

Man, I haven't watched Digimon since S2 (I think I may have caught eps of Season 3). Is it actually good? I remember it being my fave out of Pokemon/DBZ/Digimon when I was a kid, but you know, rose tinted glasses etc
