The number of draws could suggest a tightly contested league. However with a number of strong showings from the new kids in town, the old crew could find it hard to play catch up.
High school buddies KFC wasted no time showing their intentions, taking out last PDCL's semi finalist clan VB. Despite VB putting forward what I would assume to be a weaker line-up, their ace VBRhuubarb held his ground, taking another nerd soul into the depths of his gaze.
Last PDCL's winner AsG were tournament favourites, despite a few of their star players moving up to the next tier. However our new Chinese overlords ToT came out with all guns blazing, convincingly taking out defending champions AsG, and showing themselves to be strong title contenders.
With last PDCL's runners up FaDe splitting into two teams for this season, deL expected FaDe 1(SM) to be strong contenders, hosting a number of strong players from their roster last year. However new comers HDMD-kT put up a strong resistence, holding the runners up to a 3-3 draw.
The Spirit of deL seems to be strong with his fellow Tassies (not that anyone else in the world cares, especially The Man Your Man Could Smell Like (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDMKrtOncRE) as SCT held ToR to a 3-3 draw, although unfortunately with a walkover assist.
mOOnGlaDe's influence reaches down even into the depths of humble League 1, as the lovable band of mercenaries Zerocraft took the fight to FaDe 2(PG). One big suprise to this match was Zerocraft manager suman taking out Audacity 2-0, hats off to you my friend.
In a battle of new comers, Imperium, under the leadership of OptimusPrime, were able to transform and roll over Naz Gaming. Despite the Ace match going to Naz, they were unable to overcome the dominance of Imperium in the other matches.
Two of sc2sea's house clans fought in a contested match up. TCP, fuelled by the fact that iRL poached two of their players T_T, looked to start season running. However iRL were able to hold their ground, taking the Ace match, resulting in a 3-3 draw that I thoroughly enjoyed. (a bit biased but :P)
With eXo unfortunately pulling out because of time difficulties, it was up to eXofG to show SEA what their clan is made of. However it was a tough ask as they were up against the powerhouse TA. With the series coming down to the Ace match, TADivinity was able to overcome xfGBASA and give TA the victory.
