Rules and Regulations
· Players must be logged into SCII SEA region 15 minutes before their match-up. Players who are 15 or more minutes late will be disqualified and their opponent will be given an automatic win.
· Matches will be played as a Bo1 except the finals; which will be a Bo3.
· A replay-pack from the winner of the BSG must be sent to Skybreaker.895@gmail.com.
· Spectators will be allowed, however permission must be granted by both players in the current match-up. Referees and casters will also be allowed to spectate.
· If any disconnects occur within the first two minutes of game-play, the match will be replayed. However if the disconnect occurs after two minutes of game-time, then it is up to the discretion of the player who did not disconnect to decide whether the match will be either: A) replayed, or B) forfeited.
· Any disputes will be handled by myself after reviewing all associated replays.
· Any inappropriate behaviour will result in a disqualification.
Map List
The first map of each round is pre-determined and outlined in the following list. The losing player of each match will decide the subsequent map. The map pool is as follows:
Ro128: Steppes of War. Ro64: Jungle Basin. Ro32: Blistering Sands. Ro16: Delta Quadrant. Ro8: Metalopolis. Semi-Finals: Xel'Naga Caverns. Finals: Lost Temple.
Brackets
Brackets are automatically generated when I begin the tournament and will be posted directly to this thread so you will see who your opponent is, with ease, throughout the tournament. When the brackets are created, it is your sole responsibility to find your opponent, their character code and add them in-game and begin your matches.
Prizes
The current prize will be all the fame and glory that is associated with winning a SCII tournament, as well as a short interview with the winner on the site (www.sc2sea.com). Due to the nature of this tournament, we at sc2sea.com have decided it is in the best interest for all players involved if the prizes focused less on money and items and more so on helping them become a better gamer!
After some discussion between Nirvana and myself, we've decided that the winner's prize for the BSG Open #04 will to have three replays of their choice watched and analyzed by a SCII SEA pro! So if you're having trouble in a certain match-up, even a certain map or possibly against a certain unit composition - participate in this tournament for a chance to have those problems that are holding you back outlined for you to improve on!
Live streaming and commentary will be held at Unstable TV, with guest-pro Unstable to provide their usual great tips, information and tried and true advice for people in the BSG leagues looking to move up.
Important Information
Pleasure ensure you have your correct SEA SCII name and character code in your sc2sea.com profile, which can be found here. This will help reduce any problems people may face when having to search for their opponent's character name & code.
FAQ
Due to the BSG Open #04 being a 128-player event, I have written up a short FAQ covering a few questions that I get asked quite a bit throughout the tournament. Please ensure you read through them to maximize the smoothness of the tournament.
Q) Do I begin my RoX matches?
A) Yes, unless I have asked you to wait so I can bring the streamer/caster into the game, please begin your game(s) immediately.
Q) I can't find my opponent?
A) Their battle.net name and character code should be in their sc2sea.com profile, if it isn't, try finding them via the chat. If you have no success tracking them down, please wait 15minutes before messaging me informing me of the scenario and I will DQ the player.
Q) What map am I on?
A) Please refer to the rules and regulations of the tournament.
Q) I'm ready for my RoX match! Where is my opponent?
A) If the bracket hasn't been updated, it means your opponent is still in-game on his current RoX match.
Q) Hey, my opponent DC'ed, but he's back online, what do I do?
A) Please refer to the rules and regulations of the tournament.
To ensure the tournament is run smoothly and efficiently for everyone; once the tournament has started, please only contact me in-game to inform me of results, disputes and no-shows. Any other questions will be answered with a link to this thread; as all other information has been outlined in here.
Update (17/01/2011) After some feedback regarding the late ending time of the BSG tournaments; I have decided to begin the BSG an hour earlier (games start 8pm AEST/5pm SGT) as well as have all matches a Bo1; with the exception of the final which will be played as a Bo3. I will be using this format as a benchmark to test the format for upcoming BSG tournaments.
Thank you to SkyBreaker for organising such a great event and also taking into consideration that the tournaments ends very late for aussies ! GL to everyone who participates.
I'm glad to see such a positive response and that you all are enjoying the BSG, thanks for the kind words .
@SherwinAbing: Please read the OP regarding sign-ups. @Aeon: Definitely something I will consider for next weeks BSG Open; I'm just experimenting with the format to see what time it will end as I've had quite a large amount of feedback regarding the finishing time. But nothing is set-in-stone!
The sign up page is available on the day of the tournament, this is to prevent people from not-showing up (even though this still happens, its less frequent now). Now stop asking stupid questions, you would know if you read the thread.
The sign-ups for the BSG Open #04 are officially LIVE. The link has been added to this thread; as well as posted on the sc2sea.com home-page, looking forward to seeing you guys tonight! GL & HF!
