I post a poll for discussing about the standard timing of SEACL.
The poll just concerns the timings, not the days as it has been done in another thread.
The choices are:
5PMSGT/8PMAEDT/10PMNZT
6PMSGT/9PMAEDT/11PMNZT
What are standard timings?
Standard timing is given by the admin as a reference timing for the game to be played.
It is possible for teams to change this timing if it's easier for both teams to play at another timing/day and if of course both teams agree.
The standard timing will be used if both teams can't agree on a different one.
I'm not voting because it doesn't bother me too much. 8PM is generally easier for me, but either one works and I know it could be hard/impossible for some of the Singaporean teams to field a team at the 8PM timeslot.
imo most working sg players should be ready by 7pm SGT. Having 5pm session means I have to sneak out of my office early, book myself into a lanshop and start my games from there lolz. Drastic it seems but for my team i'd do anything humanly possible to play

Yea 7PM is the most convenient time for SG players I would think, as they can come back, grab a quick dinner and hop on. I don't see a big difference between 5PM and 6PM for SG, since work typically ends at 5.30 or 6 for most people (and my lessons end at 6 on some days, including match day), so both are equally bad.
I am leaning towards the later one. Despite it being 11pm for kiwis, this format (without all-kill) means we can play all 5 games at once and save time, and only the team that is streaming will have to wait to play.
Remember it's on a week day and there are probably not much fewer New Zealand players compared to Singaporeans at this point. Going to 8pm SG will be midnight start for NZ.

Some people do have family, kids, wives and all that stuff that we will spend some time with before going straight on comp when we get home. Im in Adelaide get home around 6.30 so the later time is much better for me, time to have dinner, sit with family, get some practice in and everyone else in bed by the time my games are played.
I think 9pm AEDT will suit the majority of people, there will be a few that can't make it but I think overall more people will be able to attend it now if it's changed to 9pm.
i think it would be most beneficial if it would be on a 930 or 10 AEDT Fridays to accommodate both SG players who need to go to where they can play early and to those in NZ going to stay up late without fear of waking up late the next day.
If its going to end up being 9 then i probably wont be able to play (unless the day is moved to Friday)
Reminder, all the games can be played at once if needed. So it could last the length of a BO3. And yeah we're voting for standard timing, new schedule can be agreed by the two teams.

Personally I prefer the earlier time, however I can probably be flexible. I imagine in the bottom tier we might have to work around a bit in general to help teams play.
Being on a Thursday, there is probably no perfect time for all time zones when you take into account work/school.
Lol I meant to click 9pm and accidentally clicked 8pm. Being in Brisbane without daylight savings I prefer the slightly later time as it gives me time to come home, have dinner before starting the series. I could work with either time though.

I absolutely agree with you. You can see why even 7PM SG time is also a stretch for SG players.

Nope, 8PM would be 1AM start for NZ
What I'm saying is that the poll options 5pm and 6pm SGT have little difference, since it still cuts into office hours, so 5pm or 7PM is probably better. However, 7PM is midnight for NZ, so it's a stretch for them too, which is why I suppose you didn't include that option?
It's hard to reach any concession here, but as Frog says it's just the 'stipulated start time', from what I'm seeing in my clan's discussions we're going to have to reschedule (by an hour) for most of our games.

I would like to echo his question. Is this possible? Would make it alot easier when schedules conflict. Not sure what the current 'walkover' rules are for teams that 'don't show up at the standard timing' due to time differences and unavailability

I think also, in special cases, League admins may allow later start times, if agreed by both team captains.. or if one player can't make it till 10PM AEDT and the player they are facing agrees to play their match at 10PM.. that shouldn't be too much of a problem, should it?...

This will be the case for Tier 2B. As long as both captains agree to the time changes then I don't see a problem with it, just that the default time should no contact with an admin be made will be the time indicated in the respective threads.

Yeah different times can be arranged if agreed upon by both teams, but this will be the 'standard' starting time, ie if both teams can't agree to a reschedule this will be the time that's enforced. That's my understanding, anyway.

Yeah, but I'd imagine most team managers are reasonable and flexible individuals.. If they aren't and word gets around, do you think anyone will help them out when they might need it?... Most managers and teams should be available on multiple nights through out the week, surely.
I think for working people and some students who have late class (eg: 4.30-5.30PM), earlier than 7PM will be almost impossible.
I suggested 7PM Singapore, 9PM AEDT, 11PM New Zealand. I know that it'll be a bit inconvenient for players in New Zealand but it's still possible to sleep less a bit . Anw, we - gamers - normally don't go to sleep that early.

7PM Singapore = 10 PM AEDT = midnight New Zealand, so yeah not really possible.
We are speaking about standard timing, you can still arrange for your game to be played a bit later.
I totally agree that it gonna be inconvenient for NZ. But it's also impossible for SG players as well.
It's quite a difficult situation. So I think that, both teams can try to arrange the best timing that they can. In case, they can't find any. We should play it at the standard timing in the weekend (Saturday, Sunday) not in weekdays.
If it's singapore vs singapore (or any other southeast asian country in that timezone) it is going to be easy, same for NZ vs NZ. With the few cases of NZ vs SEA I think we just have to make sure captains and players are vigilant in finding out when their team is free so we can organise a reschedule. Last seasons in both BSGCL and PDCL the reschedules were rarely adhered to and ended up in walkovers or complaints of some kind anyway. Maybe make saturday nights 6pm SGT a default for catchup games and if the players don't show up then they forfeit.

Would it be possible to have individual matches take place at different times with the consent of both players and their respective managers?
That will mostly come down to the respective admins. But as far as Tier 3 is concerned provided both players and captains agree, and I am notified then this will be fine.
