Everyone should add me and spartaz on skype. That way we can set up a group for the people in each roster and can discuss who is available and wants to play in each round there.
Also should organise everyone to join the ToR facebook group for announcements and stuff. But we can do that and get everyone on realid and stuff once we're all on skype.
1) Team Captain/Coach (Makes decisions about who goes out, etc). Ideally shouldn't be a player - and preferable knows everyone.
2) People's strengths/weakness in their MU's (We want to find specific MU snipers).
3) Ace players (Don't think it matters since it's not winners' league format?)
4) Broad player info (who likes 1basing, who likes 2basing, who is comfortable in long games).
All these info should be discussed in private, and once we have map pool we can see the players' likes/dislikes on certain maps.
Even though it's not winner's league format, compiling this information about our players can help greatly for the coach to pick correct players to go out.
Trusty, each team has a manager/captain/coach. I know Zanderax is the goto guy for the BSG team. As far as I can tell it's up to the captain to work out the rest of the details. From what I've seen so far Zanderax is taking this seriously and knows what he's doing. Not sure about the other two teams, but we're taking BSG this seriously () then I'm sure the other teams will be taken seriously as well.
As for the specifics, they are all good suggestions, but probably best to discuss with the captain of your team.
Erasmus, will we have anywhere else we can make announcements other than the ToR Facebook page? I'm fine with RealID, but I'm not getting back on Facebook.
1) I think Spartaz is doing that for this team and is not playing on it. Should be okay.
2) Is a bit relevant. There are some starting maps less likely to be sending a zerg on (like, say, shakuras or something) If you don't want to play a zerg, don't go out on this map.
3) Still important as their is a 2 point match. Need to send someone good out on that one.
4) Always relevant. I like macro games personally, but there aren't any really small maps in the map pool since they removed Xel'Naga, so I think my last favourite one left is metal, just because it's hard to defend that expand with bunkers in TvP (but I don't mind it for TvT).
I think we are taking it seriously, to an extent. Even the 3rd division is pretty stacked though, with a number of NA gms and stuff. No real massive expectation, I guess, but we would like to put in a strong showing.
@ Bugalugs: I don't think it should only be done through facebook or anything. It is just one place we can put announcements for people to see. Skype is better, but facebook is a useful broadcasting tool (**** I hate a lot of what it does too). Even twitter is good for this sort of thing, but I haven't jumped on that wagon yet, and I'm not sure if someone created a ToR account anyway.
Absolutely not, when I get a free night. Im going round all players and individually and as a team to ask for strengths and weaknesses as I have been doing already with some of the recruits.
Yes to answer this question I am taking this very seriously, as it is a very notable competition and the opportunity to showcase our ability across all of our teams and therefore showing how far ToR has come in the last 10 months since its establishment this year.
As for management, I think im chosing the captains of the 2 higher teams (As Zander is taking full responsibility for the Tier 5 Team) so that they do have the ability to make decisions because of course NZST is 2 hours later than australia so once I go back to school systems will be put in place so I wont be S*** tired for school the next days
