From what I've seen Looks like the elder scrolls games are more about customization and open worldness rather than story and atmosphere, that isnt my thing, or does it pick up later?

IMO witcher 1 was one of the most flat and boring RPGs ive ever played. Didn't touch witcher2 as a result. You probably wouldn't like these games if you enjoyed it!

I wrote a ''Dealing with Skyrim'' thread before. I'm no longer dealing with Skyrim.. 74 hours play time in the last 2 weeks.

Nord, 100 Smithing - 89 Archery and all that.. haven't finished the main quest yet. It's amazing so far, a step up from Oblivion.

EDIT: Also boys and girls get a house if you want to hoard your items. Or check with one of the TES wikis for safe keeping.

Yeah witcher was really boring for having well fleshed out characters and inspired story line. Success as an rpg in the 21st century is tough enough already due to the cookie cutter shooters flooding the market. The guys that made witcher should have realised you cant put too much emphasis on characters and well written plot, and god forbid that you actually be able to make choices that affect the game. Not hating on skyrim, i love it too. Just a little annoyed at what rpgs must conform to if they are to even have a CHANCE at being successful in the age of cod.

Gotta be quantity over quality, simplicity over depth, linear plot progression as well as siiiiickkkk graphix

well witcher 1 was fairly successful given what it was
I didn't feel like it was flat or anything just that it didn't have the freedom that skyrim has

Level 20 atm, found a great place to mine Ebony so when my Smithing is high enough (pumping it atm) I will be getting some ebony armour and weapons Shocking mace for left hand, soultrap axe in right hand. Also done a lot of disenchanting so I will be cranking some heavy armour bonuses and +20% to one handed attack on the gauntlets. Southeast of Windhelm I think is where I found the ebony, an Orc stronghold. One run through mining all of the veins and stealing all the ore/ingots lying around I came out with more than 25 ebony ingots! Gonna make me rich.

Super addicted to this game at the moment, which is odd cos I really didn't enjoy oblivion :3

Is it bad to have played 243 hours worth of skyrim? I have like restarted 3-4 times, trying other races and skills. Maybe I should finish the main quests of the game instead of doing random quests.

I was about to post about me wasting my time with 75 hours of skyrim, then I see DtorR with 243 and I fell ashamed. This game is horrendously amazing!

Nah its not bad, just you being a Bawls spending so much time on Skyrim
