pikk0n provides drama no doubt, but previous rounds after he died were fine too with sufficient banter. Right now it's random bandwagon jumps with no arguments I don't know why I'm still checking back ( I still do get excited whenever I see 'New Post' in this thread and read it first)
In addition, the number of inactive players are just disappointing. Why would you join a game like this and go inactive? It's retarded.
2 Mafia families is basically harder for Citizens and Mafia alike, since it's hard to note trends and you (A Mafia) can get killed by Mafia. 1 Mafia family is just hard for Citizens if the family knows what they're doing (don't be dumb and create obvious trends)
I think more can be changed to the game too, with more active roles. It's boring as hell to be a Citizen since all you're capable of doing is to use words to convince. Mafia can nightkill AND use words to convince. etc. Informant seems like a rather useless role for every round so far, I haven't seen any instance where their 'info' contributed to Mafia being voted out. Nosy Parker is just wtfisthisrolefor.
Since I'm at it, just some brief thoughts about the other roles: Professional's job description seems to be contradictory. " The Professional wins the game by killing those he see's as not benefiting society which are the Informant, Vigilante and Joker roles"
How are Informant and Vigilante not benefiting society if they're on Citizen side? Regardless, my stand is they're both not beneficial to society anyway unless they are linked (like in the first few rounds, where Informant can PM Vigilante)
Vigilante seems like a special Mafia I'm not quite sure what its purpose is. Detrimental to the game as shown in past 2 rounds too, with Doctor kills, etc. Doctor is amazing, if played well. Who can forget last round? Like 3 Doctor saves in a row or something? Lovers is an awesome role, not sure why it fell out of favour. Always interesting to have two secret allies, especially if they're on opposite teams. Survivor is fine. Leaving it there for the possibility of people pretending to be it is good, though rather pointless. Joker is one of my favourites, not just because I won with it, but because of its very nature. Arsonist seems to be just thrown in for more 'active' roles as I've mentioned, but not well-designed. Maybe we just haven't had a good enough player play it, but it seems just odd.
I don't know how it well it will sit with Benji (he'll probably be against it), but I wouldn't mind redesigning the game abit to have much more variety and more action going on and make the game more interesting. I could run the game for that round (and a few) to stabilize it too.

But I'm patiently waiting for SOMETHING to happen. My attack at Pandarine caused exactly 0 attention. Makes me full of sad.
This game blows so far. WTB more active peoples voting with explanation. +1 to Crazerk (won't give rep though, u've got plenty, i gotta do some catching up)

I agree that Informants should be able to PM Vigilantes, otherwise they serve a pretty useless role, with their only way of using their information being attempting to change bandwagons, which makes them more suspicious. Vigilantes, on the other hand, now rely mostly on blind luck (if these past two rounds have been any indication).
If this change is implemented, then having more than one Nosy Parker would make it much more interesting. Currently Informants don't have enough power to use their information, which I assume is who the Nosy Parker is suppose to screw over.
The Professional I see as more of a Lone Wolf, and I enjoyed playing him last round.
All the other roles I don't mind, though why no Lovers this round?
Yeah, the style of gameplay used is not how the game is meant to be played at all. Before playing here, if any person wasn't active in discussion, they were deemed useless to both sides, and voted off. Here, if you just put your vote in, you're almost guaranteed to make round 5/6.
There need to be some daytime roles. For example, a player that isn't allowed to put the first, or last vote on someone, or they have to post their messages in a certain style, or contain certain things.
Also, the voting system just encourages bandwagons. Every other game I've played, it's always been a majority vote to vote someone off. So if there's 12 players, no one is lynched until there are 7 votes for 1 person, or the deadline arrives.
Perhaps lowering the amount of registrations, or allowing people to take over that role if they aren't active. If a citizen is out of the game, I don't see why they couldn't take on a new role, as the only information they have is what's in the thread. Of course, an ex-Mafia, or the like couldn't take on the new role, as that would make it an easy win.

Well the only times I played Mafia was in class and that was in a different way, which makes for excitement which can't really be recreated on a forum environment. But I have to agree on how bland it is as it is now. Just come on, vote, rinse and repeat.
Changing rules is one thing, but I think the participants themselves have to somewhat get into the role. Like since there are citizens and all that, it would be fair to say that the thread on which the game is played is basically a city. Now I'm not saying we have to go around saying stuff like "Hey X, come buy my pineapples!". I hope you guys get what I'm trying to say.
Note: I did not look at/read the past rounds so I don't know if it was epic argument after epic argument back then.
Not really. It became evident after the first round that just being quiet gets you further then actually trying to play the game. It seems the more active you are, the higher chance you have of being voted out, simply because they think that's "suspicious".

Would be better if the roles had more space for individuation. But what you're thinking of is other versions of Mafia (e.g. SC2 Themed, etc. Just google it), it's quite hard to RP with just 'Citizens'.
Most importantly is they can't go inactive -_-
Well AFAIK, last round we had pikk0n typing essays every other day, another round we had myself playing randomly (inconsistent arguments, attention grabbing, etc) and got voted out by Citizens.. just that I was the Joker so i won, another round we had some long argument between myself and pikk0n,
And ofc some rounds had relatively intense 'last few votes'.
I think a problem is that the veteran players, after going through so many rounds, are getting bored of the monotony. There has to be new dynamics in the game besides 'stay under the radar for as long as possible and have highest chance of winning' which I can say is the best strategy everyone is using atm. THat's why I suggested a revamp with more active roles.

As expected from the master of disguise and strategy , well done lad !
I suggested a themed Mafia to make it more interesting, but Benji doesn't want it. I've had a lot more fun in themed games, just roles revealed, and not what the actual theme player is. Like, you know there'a a doctor, but you don't know if it's Mario or Luigi.
