You've all heard me talking about this for the last 2 months, and I'm pleased to finally announce the qualifiers for Australia. I was hoping to kick this event off a few weeks ago, but I was waiting on some contracts to be signed.
As many of you already know, IGN has paired with Team AZK to host the IGN ProLeague 4 Pacific Region Qualifiers in Manila, at the Philippines Pro StarLeague event on November 7th/8th.
As a representative of Team iCHOR, I've also teamed up with these two organisations to provide the Australian StarCraft 2 community with 2 seats at this event! Over the next two weeks, I'll be hosting a series of qualifiers to determine which two players will receive flights and accommodation to Manila to represent Australia at this qualifying event.
How does it work?
The event will be capped at 64 participants. Registration is open to Australian residents who are currently ranked in Master/Grandmaster leagues. I'll be distributing these 64 players across 8 groups, ensuring that the skill level of each group is as balanced as possible, whilst also minimising teamkills. The top 2 players from each group will proceed to a 16 player, Bo3, Double Elimination bracket to determine the finalists.
Can I choose my group?
No. I'll be randomising the groups based on participants' availability, then tweaking the groups slightly for optimum fairness.
If I'm eliminated from group A, can I still sign up to compete in group E?
No. Each participant can only compete in 1 group. If you are eliminated (or forfeit/disqualified for any reason) you cannot appeal for a second group.
How do I sign up?
You need to e-mail me (derek@teamnv.net) from your Battle.Net / account with the following information. Feel free to copy/paste the example below and fill in your details. As the groups are played out across different days/times, please ensure that you check your availability before sending the e-mail! It would be a shame to have to forfeit someone because they accidentally signed up on a day they weren't available. All times are in AEDT (Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time - Sydney/Melbourne).
The green blocks are the groups.
The orange blocks are the finals.

Tomorrow morning I'll be posting tomorrow the groups and e-mailing all of the players to notify them. I'll continue to accept late sign ups over the weekend, but after Sunday night the event is locked.
Unfortunately I didn't get the number of eligible entrants I was hoping (due to extremely short notice) so I've reduced the size/number of groups. So here's the plan:
Both Sunday events cancelled
I did this for two reasons:
1) Not enough participants to spread across the 8 groups.
2) I want to clear up Sunday in-case TLS ever replies to me so I can host a WCG Online qualifier.
Top 16 distribution
Because some groups have more participants than others, the top 3 players from certain groups will advance:
Group A: Top 3
Group B: Top 2
Group C: Top 2
Group D: Top 3
Group E: Top 3
Group F: Top 3
Hope that makes sense!
Games will be kicking off tonight and a stream link will be provided. I'll be alternating casters each day, be sure to tune in!
Hi guys - Just an update. I was planning on running the finals while mOOnGLaDe was in America for Blizzcon, however the timings didn't quite line up nicely, so it didn't happen. He'll be back in Australia tomorrow sometime, so at this stage I'm looking to run the finals on THURSDAY and FRIDAY. Please let me know if this is not suitable.
