The Down Under Derby is a bi-monthly tournament open to players of all skill levels from the SEA server. With $200 up for grabs each months it's a tournament to keep your eye on.
* Please read the tournament rules below as the tournament format has changed and improved. Some of these changes include:
* Two rounds are played per day
* Check-in and game time are now both 19:30 (AEST GMT+10)
* No-show time allowance has been reduced and is now 20 minutes
* If you no-showed for the first round of the last AusCraft2 tournament, you cannot enter this one.
* We now have a separate form on our website for reporting wins and opponent no-shows. Details in spoiler tags below:
The new form is an attempt to make reporting no-shows a little clearer/easier for players.
In addition to this (as mentioned in the OP), we're trialling running two rounds a day for this tourney, the idea being that if your opponent no-shows you're more likely to get a game in the next round. Also, it's less days players need to commit to and should make it easier for us to cast when we start casting.
The downside to this format is that you're expected to be online a little longer than normal (although we've brought check-in time to the same time as game time and reduced the time you need to wait in the event of a no-show). Also, players won't be able to have the flexible game times we provided in previous tournaments as games back onto each other.
If we find that the new format isn't working, or generally people think it sucks, we'll keep rejigging it until we find something that works.
N.B: Obviously if people follow the old process (notifying of no-show via the win form) we'll still process it. We understand that not everyone studdies the rules ad-nauseam and may not notice this new form.
Entry Requirements: SEA Account. If we cannot add you to our friends list you will not be entered into the tournament. Sorry folks, SEA only.
Registration Dates: 1st August - 30th August
Tournament Dates: 1st September - 2 rounds per day. Check-in and Matches start at 7:30pm
Time Zone: Eastern Daylight Time (GMT +10 hours), that's Melbourne and Sydney Time.
Where: SEA Server
Prizes: 1st place - $100 AUD, 2nd place - $70, 3rd place - $30
Spectators: Not permitted
Referees: Quarter finals, Semi Finals and Grand final may be refereed by AusCraft2 Administrators.
Player Requirements: Players are to check-in via our website, as well as contact each other in game and play their matches. Winners are required to submit their replays via online forms on our website immediately after their win. No log-ins are required in order to make the process quick and easy.
* The tournament is played out two rounds per day, with the winner of each match up advancing to the next round.
* The opening round is a 'Bye-Round'. Players who register early have a greater chance of not being included in this round and will be entered straight into 'Round 1'.
* Each round will be a best of 3 (BO3), with the grand final played as a BO5. Starting map is Shakuras Plateau. The losing player chooses the subsequent map.
* Losers are eliminated (there is no losers bracket)
* Losing semi finalists will play for 3rd place prize
* There are no restrictions on player numbers in the tournament which means the number of rounds / days for the tournament will vary (128 players equates to a 4 day tournament).
* Tournament end date will be announced when the tournament brackets are released.

Can you remove me for this event? A day or 2 after registering my boss finally improved the roster but unfortunately this means I draw the short straw and won't finish until at least 10:30pm aest on the Thursday

Hehe.
So long as you're satisfied you'll be able to make the games that's fine.
If there's any issues just let me know. You can also email us at admin@auscraft2.com if you find you're not hearing back from us quick enough.
I thought it worth mentioning that we've changed our no-show reporting process as the old one was causing a bit of confusion (I'll make sure the op is updated with all of this).
We now have a separate form on our website for reporting wins and opponent no-shows.
You always check-in and then...
If you win, do what you normally do and fill out this form:

Just a reminder that registration for this tournament closes in 1 week!
Also, if anyone has registered but can no longer make it, please contact us at admin@auscraft2.com to let us know and we will make sure you're not scheduled in.
If any one has any other questions or needs a hand with something, you can post here or e-mail us.
Brackets will be released shortly as per usual (within the next 24 hours).
Please note that due to the passing of a family member, two of the three AusCraft2 Administrators will be unavailable for the duration of this tournament. As a result we will be operating at a reduced administrative capacity and ask your patience with any service delays you may experience.
JimmyDean will provide live support for the first two rounds that will occur on the 1st and will be single handedly bracketing. A big /cheer to him!
As always our 'auscraft2' channel will be open on game days and our automated reporting system is fully functional. E-mail enquires can be directed to admin@auscraft2.com
