I am wanting to get a new headset and have been surfing the net a bit and this is what I have come up with so far (i don't need a headset because I'm hardcore btw!! I need to play at night when the kids are asleep so i don't wake anyone up - but my current set is a cheap nasty thing that hurts my ears after about 30min):
Razer Banshee - seems good overall (one review said the cord was a bit short and the standard equalizer settings are not so great). I also want to listen to music at this price, so a versatile headset would be good and i am not sure about this ones overall sound quality. I am a teeny bit worried about all the branding - I am more of an understated kinda person when it comes to products (even though i'll be wearing them at home at night... but anyway).
Logitech G930 WL Gaming headset - This is a wireless set and has 7.1 surround sound. The one review i watched on youtube seemed very positive/ convincing - he was going on about the bass and great sound quality for music which appealed to me. It is more expensive than the razer (you can get it online for around $180). I like the idea of this one so far.
Sennheiser gaming headset - I saw it come up but its hard to find a place that sells them. Also, they seem the most expensive.
Steelseries Siberia V2 - I know little about this except for a youtube clip where I think i saw some pro-gamer recommending these. You can get it in Harvey Norman for around $150.
