Starcraft 2 Scene News
- with Cute and DeathsFang!
Another Thursday, another SC2 Scene Recap at SC2SEA.com. The Starcraft world never sleeps, and here we're aiming to cover everything, from news of the utmost importance, to other, slightly less interesting things, like the tournaments for tens of thousands of dollars all over the world. You wanna know who's beating who in the GSL over in Korea, or on our very own South East Asian server? Then hold on tight dear reader, as the knowledge bombs are about to start dropping. And boy, do they drop hard.
Huge thanks to DeathsFang for finishing this article for me and nirvAnA who added the pictures
1. Makeup, creepy dudes, and more cute girls in the GSL
As if the best of the best Korean (and a few non-Korean!) progamers going head to head nightly wasn't enough incentive to watch the GSL already! GSL July now boasts everyone's favorite nerds rocking some fancy guyliner. Do they look downright snazzy, or just plain weird? Let us know!
As has been the case over the last few seasons, GOM has hired idols to do the player introductions for the games. This season, the GSL Code S graces us with the lovely ladies of 5dolls. While they're no T-ara (Ji Yeon ), they're still leaps and bounds ahead of the strange, strange men doing strange, strange things in the Code A introductions.
All of this (as well as the games themselves) can be found over at http://gomtv.net. VODs require a subscription, so if you don't have one already, get one, and support esports around the globe!
2. First week of GSTL
The first week of the much anticipated GSTL Season has kicked off! SEA players everywhere are cheering on for Team FXO, which happens to be the very first foreign-based team to be able to play in the GSTL. In the first week we received a loss from team StarTale, although to many people's surprise FXO took 2 games off them, which is a good achievement considering how insanely good ST is. Can FXO get anywhere in the GSTL? Tune in to www.gomtv.net to watch every match live from Seoul!
3. SlayerSDragon invading SEA server
For the past week or so one SlayerSDragon has been dominating the SEA server, making it to the GrandMaster's league and taking down many top SEA players and going a ridiculous 45-2! Everybody is wondering why all of a sudden this random Korean comes to SEA server and goes from Diamond to rank 5 Grandmaster in 5 days. Can you figure it out? Feel free to post your thoughts below.
Rossi, the winner of the latest CO sends Dragon a message after beating him!
In other news, inFiTargA's victory over TSL-Trickster (Tester) in the NASL qualifers #2 should not go unmentioned. Check out the replays of the games posted here!
4. CombatEX v RatZDeezer bo5 showmatch! The battle of the ego's!
Yep, you read the title correctly. CombatEx v RatZDeezer! OMGWTFBBQ?!?! 2 of the most BM players in the world faced off in an epic BO5 showmatch on Destinies stream which was casted live to 10 000 viewers waiting to see the epitome of smack talk come out. Was there smack talk? F*ck yeah! Are both their ego's higher than Mt Everest? Well, obviously! Was it entertaining to watch? What kind of questions are these? If you did not watch or hear about this......you need to see these games.... And as if the showmatch wasn't enough, for over 3 HOURS afterwards on the stream CombatEx was being interviewed by Destiny and InControL, but can you really call it an interview? I mean, come on, CombatEX getting straight up interviewed properly? It ain't happening. It was more like spending 20 minutes ranting and trolling after every comment and question Destiny or InControL made! You can watch the games and listen to the torrent of BM and trash talk that came out of CombatEX below.
The Grand Finals of SEA first ever premier clan tournament came to an end, definitely check out Crazerk's writeup, featuring interviews and in depth match analysis here

Next Week
Week Two of the GSTL kicks off tonight, with Prime taking on TSL. Look out for the return of Tastosis, and find out just who TSL decide to play now that Trickster and Fruitdealer have gone MIA. Tomorrow night sees fan favorites FXO clash with ZeNEX, as well as NS Hoseo vs fOu. Regular GSL Code S and A are both heating up. With big names already being eliminated, make sure to find out who will claw their way to the top this season.
IPL and NASL Season Two qualifiers are both running through the week. Tune in to find out which players are going to be making it into next seasons big tournaments. Also running is SC2SEA's very own Masters Cup. Don't miss it!

old mate slayers "get dressed for da StReaM" dragon has been incredibly fallible every time i've watched his stream.
how on earth pinder didn't annihilate the shit out of him when they played on shakuras i will never know. his record might make your eyes pop, but i can guarantee SEA players are a lot closer than the numbers suggest.
on the other hand, i suppose a measure of skill would be those moments that dragon uses to pull wins out of the bag; so, well played.
For the record, SlayerSDragon has not been able to beat me in a single game yet. Not sure where your getting your news from.
Not that it would be a big deal losing to him, he is pretty damn good, but yeah you might want to not chuck random names in to sensationalize your story.
That's okay. Unfortunately I cant delete the comment on the reputation (Could that feature be implemented?) T_T. When I am able to I'll return your reputation points! Other then the small mishap a very good summary! I enjoyed reading it.
