Introducing the SEACL #1
Our very own version of the GSTL
Brought to you by Mr Ray, our benevolent season SEASL 1 sponsor who is looking to sponsor the SEASL 2 after this finishes!
Tournament Details
Admins: This tournament will be run by Torniquet and Frost.510
Size: The tournament will consist of 8 teams, each having a maximum of 10 players and a minimum of 8.
Clan Requirement: It is the Sponsor's specific request that only clans will be allowed to participate in this tournament. Clans are defined in the true essence of the word, a group of players forged by friendships wearing a similar tag who have played and trained together consistently over a period of time. These players regularly have their own activities, channels and play primarily on SEA.
Players are not allowed to join a clan just to participate in this tournament, neither are they allowed to create a new clan just to participate in this. This goes against the very nature of the tournament that aims to encourage clan spirit and is extremely obvious to everyone. Any attempts of smurfing will be dealt with harshly for the players involved and the Team. It is the Team Manager's responsibility to ensure fairness of his players and no excuses will be tolerated in the event that unethical practices are occurring etc stream cheating/smurfing and the guilty clan and players will be DQed and banned from all future sc2sea events.
Team members with an existing clan: All clan members who also have a sponsored team will be allowed to play for their clan as long as they are considered true, existing members of their clan.
This includes:
EdgE, deth, Pinder who are part of aMSI will be allowed to play for TA
Revz (flash) and RedArchon(NEO) & Indy (NEO) will be allowed to play for inFi
YoonYJ (i'M) will be allowed to play for aLt
Non-SEA players from a SEA clan: All players who are not originally of SEA origin but who wear the clan tag and participate as a clan member will be allowed to play for their clans.
This includes:
Salvation an American based player has been part of TA forever will be allowed to play for them.
Targa a Norwegian player who moved to Australia to study will be allowed to play for inFi.
Format: 5 Teams are granted automatic entry into the finals, chosen based on previous performance and strength of the players in the team.
The 5 invited teams have confirmed their participation and the seedings are as follows:
#1 inFi (PSTL Champions)
#2 nGen (KOF Monthly Finals #2)
#3 TA (Consistent good performances)
#4 aLt (Consistent good performances)
#5 Wswg (Beat TA in the Ro8 of PSTL)
Other strong SEA clans have been identified as EVE/MSKI/GG/GNS/SPR/GVIEW/PRO.
Qualification slots
#6 winner of qualifier week 1
#7 winner of qualifier week 2
#8 "Wild Card" slot will be chosen entirely at the Admins discretion but based on the clans performance/dedication in the qualifications to ensure that the next most deserving clan qualifies for the finals.
Each week, 8 clans from the sign ups will be selected to compete in the qualifiers in order to secure a position in the finals. Both the qualifiers and finals will be played using the same format, one similar to the GSTL. Teams will each choose one player in the first round, and the losing team will select another player to send in, and so on, until one team reaches 4 wins (BO7 format). The winning team will advance to the next round.
All accounts must be the player’s primary/true account (no Smurf accounts).
Tournament Admin will host each game individual game.
In the event of a disconnection the admin will make the decision. The administration has the right to review the replay and final score board to determine the outcome or force a rematch. A win will be awarded to one of the players if, and only if, the game presents obvious one-sided characteristics.
These are just the basic guidelines and the Admins have the right to change any of the rules or make any decision at their own discretion. Like in almost all our most sc2sea tournaments, this rule serves as more of a disclaimer for our protection then anything else and we will likely not have to use it.
Teams will consist of 10 players only. Teams submission is decided by the team manager. Invited teams have up to the 10th of June to finalist their lists. Qualifying teams have up to the day before their qualification match to finalise their teams.
Once the 10 players have been selected, it is expected that the selected 10 will not change throughout the tournament. If the team captain wishes to switch one of the 10 with someone else, the admin must be notified immediately and this will be subjected to the admins approval.
Each team must appoint a manager who will be the captain of the team for the remainder of the tournament.
Managers must choose the starting player to represent their team in an upcoming round and must also be able to communicate well with the organisers. i.e Choose someone responsible or your clan will suffer
How do i join?
If your clan meets the requirements as stated above, you can apply to join this tournament by simply submitting your clan list of 10 players in this thread.

Question, who came up with the map pool and the choice to deny Vetos? Crossfire and Xel Naga Fortress are considered fairly difficult maps for some matchups.
Frost and Genesis (cityhunter) came up with the map pool and the groundwork rules etc but this was still before the last season of gtsl happened. Genesis is busy with exams atm so Torniquet and Frost will be the main admins.
i added quite abit of stuff to the original rules but havent touched the maps yet. need input on that and yea i dont mind just using whatever GTSL used last.
- GSL Dual Sight - GSL Crevasse - GSL Terminus SE (Destructible rocks at 3rd) - GSL Metalopolis (No close spawn positions) - Xel’Naga Caverns - MLG The Shattered Temple (Not uploaded yet but we need this uploaded on SEA asap anyway) - Tal’Darim Altar LE - Shakuras Plateau - iCCup Testbug
3 Map changes and the map pool is more interesting and balanced.
Teams will consist of 10 players only. Teams can select their 10 participants on
their own but selected members information must be passed on to tournament admin.
Once the 8 players have been selected, it is expected that the selected 8 will not change throughout the tournament. If the team captain wishes to switch one of the 8 with someone else in the overall team, the admin must be notified immediately and it will be subjected to the admins approval.
Each team must have/nominate a manager who will be the captain of the team for the remainder of the tournament.
Managers must choose the starting player to represent their team in an upcoming round and must be communicate well with the organisers.

Also, with regards to:
'After the 2 winning teams win the public qualifications the final "Wild Card" invited slot will be chosen at the Admins discretion based on the clans performance/dedication in the qualification to ensure that the next most deserving clan qualifies for the finals.'
With 6 Seeds, 2 Qualifier winners, and 1 Wild card, thats 9 teams in the finals, how will the brackets work for that? Or was there a mistype in the section below?
'Format: 6 Teams are granted automatic entry into the finals, chosen based on previous performance and strength of the players in the team.'
Also, perhaps a rule that the same map cannot be played more than once? Otherwise I am positive 90% of the games will be on XNC, which is seriously the most boring map in the world.
