Over three days of competition we will find the best player to represent our region at the WCS 2016 Spring Championship. The player deserving of such a title will face off against 31 of the the world's best players on the world stage. So start warming up those hands and pay close attention to the following information to find out how you can have your shot at the World Championship Series.

WCS Season 1: Oceania/Southeast Asia Qualifiers

Stage 1 - Online Open Qualifier Stage
- Date: Sunday 31st January 2016
- Time: 12.00PM - 10.30PM AEDT
- Server: Americas (Australia Region)
- Eligibility: Diamond/Master/Grand Master
- Format: Double elimination best-of-three
- Advancement to Stage 2: Top 12

Stage 2 - Round of 16
- Date: Saturday 13th February 2016
- Time: 12.00PM - 9.00PM AEDT
- Server: Americas (Australia Region)
- Eligibility: Prior advancement + pre-invited
- Format: Double elimination best-of-three
- Advancement to Stage 3: Top 4

​The competing Players in the Round of 16 (Stage 2) will receive a share in a local $10,000 USD prize pool as follows:

- 1st place - $1,000
- 2nd place - $800
- 3rd place - $600
- 4th place - $500
- 5th/6th place - $400
- 7th/8th place - $300

- Date: Sunday 14th February 2016
- Time: 1.00PM - 6.00PM AEDT
- Server: Americas (Australia Region)
- Eligibility: Prior advancement
- Format: Double elimination best-of-three
- Advancement to WCS 2016 Spring Championship: 1st Place

The competing Players in the Finals (Stage 3) will receive a share in a local $10,000 USD prize pool as follows:

- 1) $2,000 + WCS Spring Championship Seed
- 2) $1,500
- 3) $1,200
- 4) $1,000

Pretty sure it is just a typo. This should be qualifying for WCS Winter Championship that will take place at IEM Katowice.

Winter = IEM Katowice (in March). But all the qualifier pages says it's for Spring?

Just as a public announcement while I will still oversee and manage StarCraft II in our region for WCS, Ascarecrow and Bloodyrafe will be the head admins for ESL StarCraft II in our region so they are the people to talk to about issues for the tournament, sign up processes etc.

Please make them feel welcome, they have both worked extensively with ESL NA and will be valuable assets.

We'll be working through issues throughout the weekend so please be vocal with problems you run into.

So as a PSA for cuddles and anyone else struggling to link their profile:

You have to play all 5 placement matches to get ranked, then find your profile on nios.kr - your name on nios should be clickable and will take you to your profile page on bnet.

edit: god damnit jessie were were you 24 hours ago :P

The game account required to register is now set to Americas. We will be utilising the Americas Server with the Australia Region.

We'll be in touch with those who registered via SEA game accounts if it turns out they will need to re-register (still looking into it).
